Job description
The starting salary for this position is £16,794.60 per annum based on a 21.60 hour working week, pro-rata to £27,991.
This position is offered as a 12 month secondment or fixed term opportunity.
CCISS (Children's Intensive Support Service) have an exciting opportunity to offer!
We are looking for someone to join us for three days a week, for one year, as a development opportunity to build knowledge, experience and skills in supporting children, young people and their families who have Autism, a learning disabilities and behaviours of concern.
We are a person centred, highly motivated and innovative team working with children and young people from 4-18 years old who have a learning disability and/or Autism with behaviours of concern, to prevent family or placement breakdown. All our work is underpinned by the positive behaviour support framework and an understanding that all behaviours are a form of communication.
We work from 2pm to 10pm Monday - Friday and from 9am to 5pm on Saturdays.
The role includes:
- Assessing children's behavioural functions
- Identify appropriate strategies/environmental changes to be implemented to reduce behaviours of concern
- Identify on-going/long term support needs
- Visiting family homes to offer hands on support
- Observations in the home and in school setting when appropriate
- Be on call to respond to any "crisis" situations in the community
We will provide coaching in Positive behaviour support and identify any further training needs to meet the requirements of the role.
