Mechanical Engineer

Job description

An experienced Mechanical Engineer sought for research, design, develop, manufacture, and test of turbochargers and other mechanical devices.

This role is currently 100% remote but will transition into a hybrid role: 1 or 2 days a week on site, rest of the week working from home. You will need to be local or willing to commute.

This is an initial contract to the end of the year but will very likely be extended as this only covers the initial phase of the project.

Mechanical Engineer Role:

Working within the Advanced Engineering department, reporting to the technical project leader for the allocated project(s) and supporting and leading aspects of technical research, product development, design, functionality and maintenance of advanced mechanical turbocharger products, equipment, systems, and processes.

Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test turbochargers and other mechanical devices.

Research and analyse design proposals, specifications, conduct DFMEAs, determine time and cost feasibility to complete projects.

Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products using tools, equipment or software.

Mechanical Engineer Requirements:

Candidates must have previous experience working as a Mechanical Engineer.

University degree in engineering required.

5+ years previous engineering experience in a similar or equivalent environment, previous automotive experience is not required.

Collaborative, creative, good verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving ability.

Team player and detail oriented.

Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and computer-generated reports.

Previous experience / exposure to computer applications and software related to engineering field.
