Labcorp Drug Development are looking to recruit an Associate Surgeon to perform surgical work for a variety of animal studies. The role will be based at the Harrogate site, but travel to other sites in the UK may be required.

Your duties will include:

* Performing Licenced animal technician procedures
* Animal physical exams
* Monitoring animal anaesthesia and recovery
* Post-operative care procedures
* Training on surgery related activities
* Working with surgically prepared animals and offer refinement to improve technique.
* Assisting in client visits and debriefings
* Working closely with other departments at UK sites.
Education/Qualifications:
* Bachelor degree in Life Sciences required or Associate degree in related field with ideally a minimum of two years' experience performing a wide range of surgical techniques with small animals.
* Home Office Licence required with module 4.
* Professional IAT Qualification preferred.

Experience:
* Knowledge of anatomic and physiologic variations in a wide variety of laboratory animals, animal husbandry, behaviour, feeding, nutrition, diseases, and reproduction.
* Ability to effectively interact with laboratory staff UK sites.
* Skilled in concise writing and intermediate level computer operations.
* Ability to accurately read, record, and communicate information effectively.
* Must be able to work in laboratory setting with laboratory animals.
* Ideally at least two years' experience of performing a wide range of small animal surgical techniques.
