The Specialised Supported Living Service is passionate about supporting adults with learning disabilities, who put the people we support first. We are seeking to recruit great support workers. The duties are varied and no two days are the same. The people we support are individuals and deserve to be treated as such. However as a general guide duties may include support with personal care such as bathing and domestic tasks such as cooking and cleaning as well as support with leisure activities. Most importantly we want you to make a difference to peoples lives.

The Specialised Supported Living Service supports adults in sixteen locations across Leeds. There are full time and part time vacancies

Successful candidates will have completed the Health and Social Care Level 2 NVQ/diploma or equivalent.

This post requires shift work as we provides support over a 24/7 basis. You must be able to work a variety of shifts including nightshifts, weekends and public holidays.

All applicants will hold a L2 or Level 3 Diploma / NVQ in healthcare, or possess skills, knowledge and experience to an equivalent level. Where the applicant does not possess the actual qualification the Trust requires all applicants to commit to beginning this (or a Level 3 qualification) within 6 months of commencing in post unless extenuating circumstances exist.

***Please note that from 1st July 2018, all new employees will be required to pay for their DBS Check, and to subscribe to the DBS Update Service.***

If a DBS Check is required for your role the Trust will administer the DBS check on your behalf and will recover the cost of the DBS check (Enhanced Check £48 or Standard Check £30) by way of deductions from your salary over the first 3 consecutive months of employment with the Trust. As a condition of your employment you will also be required to register with and to participate in the DBS Update Service, and will be responsible for maintaining payment, and subscription to the DBS Update Service (£13 annual payment).DBS checks for volunteers remain free of charge.

NHS staff from the Yorkshire and Humber region designated 'at risk of redundancy' will, wherever possible be offered an interview, provided that they demonstrate that they meet all the essential shortlisting criteria of the post. The Trust currently pays a non-consolidated supplement in order that all our staff receive the equivalent of the Living Wage Foundation Rate.
