The Role
Vision for Education is seeking a SEMH Tutor for Key Stage 3&4 to work in local schools across Middlesbrough, starting in January. Tutoring in multiple schools across the region in a supportive and friendly specialist setting, with children aged 11 to 16 who require additional support with Attention Deficit, Hyperactivity Disorder, Social Emotional and Mental Health challenges. Working in a SEMH environment is an ideal opportunity for someone with previous SEMH Teaching experience or Newly Qualified Teacher Status (NQTS) looking to gain exposure in a SEMH environment. Someone with NQTS is the chance to gain further experience and develop teaching skills in a SEMH setting.
The school
The specialist schools cater for students in with social or emotional issues. The schools offer brilliant facilities and resources, and the staff pride themselves on their child-centred approach. Most schools we work with have excellent public transport links, but access to a vehicle would be advantageous.
Requirements
To be considered for the SEMH Tutor role you must:
Experience Tutoring online or face to face would be beneficial
Hold a driving licence, which would be preferred, but not essential.
A DBS Certificate is an advantage but not essential, this can be arranged.
Confident de-escalating challenging situations. Training would be an advantage but not essential.
