We're seeking RZ Grain Plant Operators for a client in Huntsville, AL. Candidates must be forklift and overhead crane certified. This opportunity could be the one you've been looking for.
Pay rate: **$17.50/hr**
Must be able to work the following shifts: Monday- Friday 7:00am-3:00pm
The role will be in a fast paced, production-like environment. Projected start date is immediate and last for 5 - months (through end of April 2022) (client is open to longer term placements for top-performing candidates, as well as temp-to-hire)
Job Duties:
The job consists of all aspects of manufacturing RZ gains and powders including calcining, milling, crushing, sizing, inspecting, and packaging.
Essential Functions-
+ Frequency- Product handling by start-up, operation and monitoring of calciner. Operator must insure proper feed, rates and temperatures. Hourly/As needed Product sizing by setup and operation of rolls crushing systems including rotexes, mag separators, and building screens.
+ The operator will setup and operate ball mills, attrition mills, and vibratory screeners. Conduct size analysis of materials by using sieves and ro-tap, calculating and recording results. Conduct size analysis (wet sieve) of materials using sieves and oven, calculating and recording results.
+ Hourly/As needed- Product blending by setup and operation of batch mixer following prescribed mix instructions. As needed Properly identify materials using production date, run number, batch number, size, material name, and status as applicable.
+ Obtains, collects, transfers, weighs, and mixes materials, handling, unloading, storage and transfer of materials as required. As needed Operator has overall responsibility for accuracy and recording of all weights and measures associated operations.
+ Must be able to perform math skills to calculate time, weights, temperatures. This component of operation requires computer knowledge and ability to enter data into spreadsheets, databases, etc. to use the computer system and software to track materials received, used in mix, product shipments, and production data for inventory tracking. Hourly/As needed Area housekeeping and cleanup.
+ Operator must complete a thorough clean-up of assigned area each shift. Operator must be able and willing to carry out written and verbal instructions with minimal supervision. Errors or deviation from accepted procedures and/or instructions must be reported immediately to the group leader. Hourly Perform all the duties in a safe, responsible manner in accordance with the Saint-Gobain EHS Charter, observing all Company and Government regulations. Observe and report all unsafe conditions to the Shift Leads.
+ Comply with company policies and safety rules Hourly Material handling, weighing, bagging. This will include product packaging in drums, bulk bags or paper bags as needed. It will require using various handling equipment as required. Operator will setup and operate baggers, totes, stands, etc. This includes the proper disposition of all associated materials. It will require using various handling equipment such as forklifts.
+ Forklift and overhead crane certified required.
+ As needed- Responsible for conducting material sampling by riffling a plan under the stream to obtain a representative sample. Conduct sample reduction by mixing and splitting sample obtained to appropriate size sample for testing. As needed Perform magnetic separation of material using grate, drum and rare earth roll magnets as required. Measurements and testing of magnetic iron content using mag analyzer.
+ As needed- Perform LPD testing by using the LPD cylinder accurately and recording results. Perform WPCF testing by using WPCF cylinder accurately and recording results. As needed
Some physical activities: carrying up to 50 lbs. maximum, lifting up to 50 lbs. maximum, reaching, seeing, standing for extended periods, walking, kneeling, pushing, pulling, sorting, cleaning, twisting, climbing, hearing, and squatting.
Requirements:
• Good understanding of machinery; mechanically inclined; able to work 11-12-hour shifts if needed
• A quality oriented individual
• A self- starter, someone who shows initiative
• A team player (individual who can work well with a team)
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred, but not required. Strong Math skills are required.
Strong preference for manufacturing production experience using machines (set-up and operations)
Forklift and Overhead crane certified
