Job Description

Our client in the construction and engineering industry is looking for a Chief Financial Officer to join their team for a contract role. Ideal candidate would be responsible for the preparation of the financial plans and policies, accounting practices and procedures, cash management and the organization's financial reporting systems and methods.

Requirements

  • Assess and evaluate financial performance of the Construction companies with regards to short and long-term operational goals, budgets, and forecasts
  • Recruit, interview and hire finance, accounting and payroll staff as required
  • Implement policies, procedures, and processes as deemed appropriate by the senior leadership team
  • Review and analyze monthly financial results and provide recommendations
  • Supervise the Accounting department and ensure the proper functioning of all systems, databases, and financial software.
  • Oversee the preparation and timely filing of all local, state, and federal tax returns, and provide required information for the preparation of income tax returns.
  • Maintain bank relationships and strategic alliances with vendors and business partners
  • Oversee weekly cash management and AP department, approve large payables, sign checks, authorize wire transfers and ACH's
  • Supervise Accounts Receivable management and provide guidance relating to the collection process
Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or related field and a minimum of 6 years' experience as a CFO in construction with annual revenues of $300M+
  • CPA designation required
  • 15+ years total accounting and finance experience including prior role as a Controller
  • Outstanding knowledge and understanding of GAAP, and compliance standards.
  • Hands on experience with Financial software systems
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to communicate complex information to a variety of audiences
  • Able to work on multiple projects with accuracy and efficiency, while keeping to deadlines
  • Significant experience working with external auditors, internal controls and compliance-related issues
