Job Summary:
The Associate Planner is responsible for providing general support to the Planning department. Manages production schedule, generates bill of materials (BOMs), issues work orders and manages throughput by monitoring key performance indicators.
Essential Job Duties:
* Manage weekly production schedule for packaging and inspection of all product lines
* Collaborate daily with the manufacturing, planning, quality operations, quality assurance and procurement departments to ensure production schedule is maintained
* Release, monitor, expedite and close work orders as required to support the Master Schedule. Update and maintain manufacturing processes and BOMs with new change orders.
* Manage sample requests to support intra-departmental and regulatory requirements
* Manage serialization requirements and batch allocation for packaging for all product lines to all sellable markets
* Track key performance indicators to ensure on-time scheduling and completion
* Manage BOM change requests and works with SAP management department to manage system workflow
* Maintain current knowledge of regulatory and industry standards.
* Generate thorough written reports, when required, that summarize investigations performed for out-of-specification results or out-of-procedure events.
* Participate in regulatory and internal inspections/audits including providing written responses as applicable for area of responsibility.
* Strict adherence to procedures and practices according to FDA regulations.
* Strong emphasis on documentation according to FDA regulations.
* Adhere to departmental corporate safety policies.
Job Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, Material Science or closely related field is preferred. APICS or CPIM certification is desired.
* Requires a basic understanding of the fundamentals of inventory control and supply chain principles.
* Expertise in material flow process knowledge (lead time, transit times, 2 tier supply, etc.)
* Analytical skills and spreadsheet analysis experience is preferred.
* Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
* Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to make structured decisions on a routine basis.
* Must be proactive, results oriented, and have strong attention to detail.
* Self-starter with strong work ethic and the ability to exercise good judgment.
* Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks to meet targeted deadlines.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with personnel at all levels in a team environment.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language.
* Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Must be flexible with working hours / shifts in order to accommodate the 24 hour, 7 day plant operation.
* Sound knowledge of ERP/MRP (SAP) systems for planning and purchasing is preferred.
