We are looking to expand our team and are interested in qualified and motivated candidates for our Human Resources Generalist position.
Under direct leadership, the Human Resource Generalist works to conduct the day-to-day functions of the Human Resources department including compliance, employee onboarding and offboarding, payroll support, benefits and wellness program administration, safety and workers' compensation, HR record keeping, and reporting requirements.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Serves as the first point of contact for employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate team members.
- Implements policies and procedures, audit records, drive compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices.
- Maintains and audits electronic records to ensure information is accurate and up to date and ensures HR recordkeeping is compliant with required Watchpoint standards with the use of Paylocity.
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, and continuing education. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
- Assists managers with recruiting efforts by scheduling interviews, conducting phone screens, and candidate follow-up.
- Maintains Watchpoint's compensation structure by creating offer letters, employment status change letters, and ensuring that job descriptions are current for all positions.
- Administers onboarding and offboarding processes and paperwork, including orientation programs, and ensures that documentation is processed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Administers and manages, with the guidance of Watchpoint's HR Consultant, the Workers' Compensation program and coordinates workers' compensation claims through final resolution and closure.
- Participates in Watchpoint Safety Programs including Injury Illness Prevention Program recordkeeping, safety meetings, and safety training.
- Assists with performance management programs including employee reviews and goal setting tracking.
- Initiates and manages applicant background checks and employment eligibility verifications.
- Participates and assists with benefit enrollment and wellness program administration.
- Demonstrates the ability to influence others positively; keeps sensitive information confidential; behaves in a fair and ethical manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field.
- Three or more years of experience as a Human Resources professional.
- PHR or SPHR certification preferred.

- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems (Paylocity experience preferred).
Physical Demands/Work Environment
- Must be able to work in a seated or standing position for extended periods.
- Must be able to use fingers, hands, and arms at a computer keyboard for long periods of time.
- Must have the ability to speak clearly and distinctly, hear and be heard, and be understood both in person and by telephone.
- Must be able to drive to Watchpoint locations to provide on-site service (South San Francisco and Milpitas offices).
