Offers functional expertise within portfolio and project teams to support portfolio and functional owners define and deploy solutions. Helps evaluate and define work effort and associated costs of new service requests and projects. Assists in requirements gathering and defining business needs. Includes analysis/evaluation of business and/or system process and functional requirements and development of business cases. Develops relationships with upstream and downstream business partners and customer groups. Identifies opportunities for business or process improvement and makes associated recommendations as appropriate.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Supports and provides functional expertise on programs and projects as assigned. Broad application of principles, theories, and concepts in applicable discipline, plus working knowledge of other related fields. Uses professional concepts in accordance with company objectives to solve complex problems in creative and effective ways.

  • Develops consistent partnerships of shared ownership to resolve and identify impacts between teams. Demonstrates expertise in functional area business processes and understands assigned cross functional areas.

  • Independently initiates, identifies and coordinates the analysis of complex client needs in project areas such as: new/existing business processes, innovative approaches to solutions support, market research of emerging or available product functionality and operational readiness assessment.

  • Focus on continued improvement and upgrades of current processes and technology. Identifies opportunities for increasing business efficiency through improved manual and automated process systems.

  • Coordinates the development of comprehensive business cases with cost, service, and benefit dimensions of proposed projects that are used at management and executive levels for funding and scope decisions.

  • Oversees the maintenance of domain and/or system knowledge including the development of comprehensive process and system documentation.

  • Accountable for tracking and/or monitor and report for senior management the results of actualization of benefits.

  • Plans, coordinates and conducts the analysis of client business processes and functional requirements and the preparation of appropriate documentation to communicate and validate the information.

  • Develops cross-initiative integration plans. Identifies other initiatives that exist and ensures that efforts are not duplicated.

  • Consults on the integration of application systems into the work environment.

  • Identifies and coordinates with other project managers and implements schedule deadlines as appropriate. Manages common resource demands. Provides on-going project management and status reporting at all levels. Provides advice and input into the project plan. Develops techniques for compiling, preparing and presenting data.


  • Basic Qualifications:

    Experience

  • Minimum eight (8) years directly related experience, to include three (3) years in a consultative role required.


  • Education

  • Bachelor's degree in business adminstration, management science, industrial engineering-operations research, or related field, OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field required.

  • High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.


  • License, Certification, Registration

  • N/A


  • Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to influence multiple cross-functional, and/or multiple cross divisional task forces to identify and document functional requirements, workflow, information sources and system/process specifications.

  • Ability to establish cross-functional task forces.

  • Thorough knowledge of platforms within the assigned areas and multiple cross functionality based on assignment.

  • Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.


  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ten (10) years directly related experience, to include five (5) years in a consultative role.

  • Certification or advanced qualification by third party association that matches the function or field applicable to the business discipline (i.e., AHIP, HIAA, etc.).

  • Five (5) years related experience in Healthcare environment.
