Staff Accountant

Job description

Accounting Principals has partnered with a strong company in Oakland to find a qualified Staff Accountant! This is a Contract to Hire opportunity for someone with experience in AP and General Ledger and ability to handle a variety of accounting duties. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to apply themselves with the team and work long-term.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist with journal entries and reconciliations in the general ledger, including month-end close and preparation of financial statements
• Manage the Accounts Payable process including vendor communications and accurate invoice billing
• Assist with Payroll as needed
• Ability to handle expense reports and communicate with management as needed
• Support year-end audit as it approaches

Qualifications:

• 2-3 years' experience in General Ledger Accounting
• Work history in a tech or biotech space strongly preferred
• Experience handling AP and ability to manage the full AP process
• Experience in strong ERP systems is a plus!
• Excellent communication and attention to detail!

Rate: $35-38/hour

• Role: Contract to Hire
