Job description

Robert Half is seeking a Manager, Product Management Development, who will be working with a team of key leadership individuals responsible for a portfolio of products and platforms. The role is responsible for defining and communicating the strategic path of both current and future products as well as being engaged in the day-to-day decisions regarding product development and product releases. This role is expected to be the key player in providing end-to-end management support of the Robert Half product family.


Responsibilities of the team include guiding and supporting product management, training and planning. There is a high degree of product accountability and decision-making authority over product enhancements, support, administration, data, and training. Responsible for partnering with key teams to drive adoption and driving a comprehensive strategy that supports the business processes and evaluates/defines methods for integration into automated sales solutions.


Specific responsibilities include:


Analysis, Requirements Gathering, Documentation

  • May be asked to manage multiple complex projects and shifting priorities. Evaluates project requests with customers to determine costs, benefits, and feasibility and determines project priorities for presentation to management for approval. Works closely with users, analysts, product development, and executive sponsors to deliver enhancements.
  • Facilitates efforts to scope, schedule, test and deploy product enhancements and partners with Product Management to transition new functionality into production support.
  • Performs appropriate risk assessment and feasibility analysis to mitigate potential problems.
  • Based on the needs of the products, negotiates product and service partnerships with third parties for integration with business.


Product Development Activities

  • Lead the Product Development team to ensure there is effective focus on implementation success and adoption of our methodology.
  • Team with the Product Management team to maintain oversight and shepherd the product (or components thereof) through the product release cycle.
  • Maintain understanding of key market drivers, issues, and players in assigned markets.
  • Provide regular and detailed communications of Product development status.
  • Manage team development and delivery of quality, written content into Product Requirement Documentation; developing process to ensure alignment with business goals and customer needs.
  • Development, implementation, and maintenance of a product delivery methodology that is in alignment with the IT processes. This will include, but not be limited to, clear product transition to Product management team for ongoing production support.
  • Evaluate Competitive market offerings and deliver products that will keep RHI competitive in the market; identify changing marketplace needs.
  • Partner heavily with the Product Management team to execute a strategy focused on Customer Value Metrics and product requirements.
  • Define and execute product related projects.
  • Direct resources required to achieve product and company strategies.
  • Execute delivery plans, budgets and programs that underpin plans.
  • Work with staff department to insure the legal, financial, and administrative processes are in place to streamline delivery activities.
  • Develop business case for product proposals as well as identifying potential product development needs.
  • Be an active partner with corporate teams in the delivery of comprehensive product solutions.


Technical review

  • Participate in review of technology options and provides recommendations for processes, procedures and changes including process analysis. Provides input to validate and approve technical approaches in line with the customer's business and system strategies.
  • Provides functional interpretations of products, applications, and services. Produces clear, understandable technology-related communications for management and business partners.
  • Prepares and delivers informational/instructional presentations and technical documentation for the purposes of delivery and supporting shift to production support.


Management and Training

  • Responsible for managing individuals that manage and support the product solutions. This includes monitoring their projects, providing training to develop their skill set, and providing regular performance reviews.
  • Responsible for managing multiple applications/products that are key systems for the sales organization.
  • Provides guidance and orientation for the Product Development Team
  • Effective management skills, and experience working with cross-functional teams, customers, and partners to build innovative products.
  • Responsible for developing and implanting procedures/processes and ensuring team can execute according to guidelines provided; this will include development of templates, documented processes, and ongoing training.

Strategy Development & Product Vision

  • Develop roadmaps with your product area teams, based on trade-offs between customer requirements, business needs, competition and engineering. Align team roadmaps with overall product roadmaps.
  • Develop goals and key metrics to measure success for the product team, aligning with overall company goals.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. Business, MIS or related area preferred
  • Special Training:
  • Project or Product Management courses preferred
  • Business or Systems Analysis courses preferred
  • 5+ years minimum requirement without degree (while meeting other minimum experience requirements).
  • Experience working in the RHI Sales Office preferred.
  • At least 4+ years' experience supporting an enterprise business system.
  • Good understanding front to back of a company's operational flow.
  • Experience working with an international company, with multiple locations preferred.
  • 3+ years' experience managing direct reports, including mentoring/developing.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new hardware/software systems independently.
  • Proven track record for working with Sr level managers to develop strategy, analysis, and presenting in depth proposals.
  • 3+ years' experience managing projects including: developing timelines, building a team to support, creating and presenting analysis, working with project stakeholders, and bringing project to completion.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Understanding of how new technology integrates with current systems and how it should be designed to meet end user needs.
  • Project Management certification is a plus.
  • Proven leadership skills.

  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Direct supervisory experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills that will enable this position to work well with key stake holders; team organization skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate and work with numerous teams at all levels (including Sr. Level Managers).
