Sony Electronics has an exciting career opportunity at our North American headquarters in San Diego, CA, for a strategic, yet hands on, Senior HR Manager who will bring Talent strategies to life to drive business success. This will be a leadership level role and has potential for additional career growth within the HR organization.
Reporting to the Head of HR Business Support & Talent Acquisition, this is role will have one direct report, HR business partner. You will work with all levels of leadership and HR, to diagnose business and organizational needs, lead "brainstorming" discussions and assess talent gaps and opportunities, identify and propose talent solutions to meet those gaps and partner to implement solutions that drive business results.
You'll:
- Translates business strategies and issues into appropriate HR and organizational excellence actions.
- Serve as a strategic HR business partner to leaders to facilitate discussions related to talent management, workforce planning, engagement surveys and succession planning.
- Provide thought leadership in organizational development, change management, business transformation and restructuring, using demonstrated expertise.
- Provide proactive and strategic guidance, support organizational planning and development initiatives that align the human resources agenda to key business strategies and initiatives.
- Facilitate talent assessments such as 9 box talent reviews, succession planning, development planning and individual development plans.
- HR Generalist responsibilities such as employee relations, investigations and ensure compliance within each business unit.
- Talent Insights: Acting as the HR analytics lead. Provides metrics and insights to develop and support Talent Management practices. Work across HR centers of excellence and senior leaders to develop an integrated approach to analytics and metrics focused on the right outcomes.
- May serve as program/project lead for enterprise HR initiatives across Sony North America.
- Partners with other HR Centers of Excellence (COEs) in the delivery of key HR programs and services. Provides advice and feedback regarding the design and rollout of corporate wide initiatives as well as communicates business unit challenges into the COEs as part of their ongoing assessment of corporate-wide needs.
- Recognizes and effectively balances the client group's interests with the needs of the company. Coaches managers and leaders to be effective leaders and counsels employees as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent with an emphasis in a related discipline such as Human Resources or Organizational Development
- Minimum of 7 years of related experience as a HR Manager, Business Partner
- Talent Insights experience, using a variety of data analytical frameworks to influence decisions
- Strategic HRBP experience is a MUST
- Prior experience developing and implementing organizational development and engagement strategies in a complex, dynamic organization.
- Strong consultative, diagnostic, organizational, problem solving, analytic and facilitation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to drive change, associated deliverables and influence adoption of new ideas.
- Must be a business-focused, strategic thinker with a bias for action and strong execution.
- Strong leader of people with exceptional coaching and mentoring skills.
- Working knowledge of talent programs, learning / development, performance management, succession planning.
- Exceptional verbal and written communications skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization to coach, influence, facilitate, present and inspire.
- Proficiency in MS Office (word, excel, PowerPoint)
- Previous supervisory experience, 2+ years in managing HR team is required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications in Lominger suite of tools (Leadership Architect; 360 assessments, Talking Talent, etc.) preferred.
