Job Description
Qualcomm is the industry leader in 4G & 5G communication technology. QTI, subsidiary of Qualcomm, is looking for a Sr. Manager - Business Development for Smartcities and Smart Connected Spaces. The Sr. Manager - Business Development will develop relationships across multiple ecosystem partners, cities, Government agencies and operators, utilizing the ecosystem partners' and system integrators within the USA and Internationally via various Qualcomm regional teams. This position will be under the Connected Smart Systems BU.
Manage vertical sales pipelines, Cost benefit analysis, Market research, Go-To-Market strategy, and final commercialization of our technology product portfolio pricings among global cities and government agencies and key system integrators. Align with master system integrators, service providers, infrastructure equipment vendors, wireless operators and their system requirements, compile competitor intelligence, and drive our Digital transformation solutions roadmap and product specifications. Plan, Coordinate, implement, execute, control and manage the successful completion of Smartcities solutions and ensure consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals.
Evolve and create new business opportunities while driving existing initiatives using QTI technology including wireless connectivity, compute, artificial intelligence, and security in an IoT centric B2B XaaS (X-as-a-service) based delivery model. Develop novel engagement models using Qualcomm technologies and create financial forecasts and business case for the proposed approach. Be the XaaS (X-as-a-service) API owner, its marketing, and its approach to promote both the best partner and user experiences possible will be highly desirable in this role. This includes everything from beautiful documentation to basic outreach, and everything designed to help build a ecosystem. Gathering information and deliver roadmaps to customers; have a good understanding of requirement analysis as well as iterative development processes.
Must have prior experience in developing Business plans, relationships, cost benefit analysis, revenue share models, ROI etc. from multiple partners in the smart city ecosystem:
- Participated in the selection of the most appropriate opportunities and business models partnerships and applications
- Promote and defend pre-selected solutions to the target audience
- Prior experience in ensuring that system designs (Smart facilities, Intelligent Infrastructure, Asset tracking etc.) are monetizable and deliverable within defined financial, resource and time constraints
- Created Internal Controls and Metrics (KPIs), managing sales budgets and pipelines, profitability analysis, NPV, IRR and business model spreadsheets
- Proven record of developing a plug and play business model utilizing multiple technologies which allows the system integrator build a portfolio of new and better services for clients
- Needs solid Financial modelling, writing skills, presentations skills and communications skills to lead and close proposals and presentations for RFP responses.
Minimum Qualifications
- MBA Required. Added expertise in Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years Business development experience or related work experience.
- 3+ years working with operating budgets, resources, and/or project financials.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Smart Infrastructure, Smart Energy, Smart facilities, and In-Building technologies, AI/ML pricing and infrastructure pricing.
- Experience in GTM and ecosystem development and hands on experience in project management and business development
- Experience in the management and the promotion of business modeling , PPP partnerships for Smart cities and revenue share methodologies
- Experience with financial model and RFP writing and response plus ability to write RFI responses
