The Credit Approval & Administration team provides education, guidance, and best practices related to First Republic's credit culture and policy. Our team includes members of the Executive Loan Committee and Credit Administration who approve and monitor loans in accordance with our credit culture and policy.

Reporting to the VP of Real Estate Portfolio Analysis, the Director of IP Portfolio Analytics will be responsible for managing key commercial real estate functions which support data-driven insights. As a key leader in the Real Estate Portfolio Analysis team, the successful candidate will leverage their industry knowledge to contribute strategic support to the Real Estate Portfolio Analysis team, the Head of Credit Administration, and the Chief Credit Officer.

The Director of IP Portfolio Analytics is responsible for performing a variety of duties, including the duties and responsibilities outlined in Section III.

What you'll do as a Director, IP Portfolio Analytics:

Provide analytical support to the REPA team, which is responsible for monitoring, reviewing, and analyzing SFR, IP and/or construction loan products/portfolios.

Develop and implement analytical frameworks and modeling approaches to support REPA's monitoring and analysis efforts.

Lead the advancement of commercial analytics including, machine learning applications and predictive analytics.

Develop and implement advanced portfolio analytics, forecasts, and models.

Utilize coding kills including, SQL, Python, and R as appropriate to advance and update the team's internal tracking tools.

Collaborate with internal and external developers related to supporting and/or updating the current version of the CRE/MF Workbook.

Portfolio Management & Monitoring

Assist with (IP) Annual Review: determining IP review scope and maintaining or updating associated templates/exhibits.

Perform data validation as needed.

Aggregate, validate and interpret data relative to RE products and translate results via verbal or written communication.

Confirm data accuracy related to reporting for Accounting, Finance and CECL/SOX processes.

Research and conduct independent projects to enhance analysis efficiency and accuracy of databases.

Reporting

Review and streamline existing reporting inventory, to include development of new reporting and data needs. Create and automate various group reporting materials focusing on CA department needs.

Work with the REPA and Credit Analytics teams to develop Tableau dashboards to automate RE flag reporting.

Assist with maintaining the IP and other databases from which portfolio metrics and reports are produced and provided to management, regulatory examiners, and other third-party stakeholders.

Ad Hod projects as needed.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned by manager.

Additional responsibilities include: 1) adhering to and complying with the applicable, federal, and state laws, regulations, and guidance, including those related to anti-money laundering (i.e., Bank Secrecy Act, US PATRIOT Act, etc.); 2) adhering to Bank policies and procedures; 3) completing required training; 4) identifying and reporting suspicious activity to the AML Officer, and 5) knowing and verifying the identity of any customer(s) that enters a relationship with the Bank.

Bachelor's Degree required. Graduate Degree and/or related studies preferred.

A minimum of 5+ years of prior banking and credit experience (regulatory experience is a plus), as well as 2+ years in a managerial role.

Experience with introducing new processes to an organization and managing said processes through cross-departmental teams.

Must possess direct experience with / understanding of FRB's geographic markets. Must have working knowledge of CRE/MF, SFR, HELOC products.

Must possess the ability to multi-task and prioritize competing deliverables while still producing a high-quality work product. Strong project, process and time management skills required.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including experience working with all levels of management across all bank departments.

Excellent analytical abilities and writing skills.

Exceptional ability to aggregate data in a way that enables insights and decision making.

High concern for quality and attention to detail.

Technical aptitude with AFS Level III, Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, and SQL.

Familiarity with developing dashboards using Tableau.

Experience with Python and/or R strongly preferred.

Job Demands:

Position involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods.
