Job description
The Software Developer position involves programming to correct defects, updating existing software, and building new software working independently and with teams throughout the entire project life cycle. Development tasks include but are not limited to: user interface, database, and multiple programming languages (i.e. VB.NET, ColdFusion, HTML, JavaScript and Javascript frameworks (Node, React)). The Software Developer is a team player who takes initiative, enjoys finding solutions to a varying number of challenges, and is detail-oriented. The position performs daily maintenance tasks such as research to determine cause of problems and determining how to resolve them. Programming is performed as needed by working closely with other developers to achieve high quality end results
Job Duties:
•Maintenance and programming for user interfaces using development frameworks using languages such as SQL, JavaScript and Javascript frameworks, CFML, HTML, CSS, VB.NET.
•Develop test routines and programming in Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall environments.
•Determine specifications and requirement gathering to create appropriate documentation.
•Perform routine daily maintenance of existing applications.
•Attend project meetings with business stakeholders.
•Take ownership and manage daily project needs and communications with minimal supervision.
•Communicate project status and deliverables with managers and business stakeholders.
•Create development and testing documentation for future reference.
•Adhere to existing development policies and procedures.
•Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related discipline.
•4 years' experience working as a Software Developer I.
•Experience in programming languages i.e. JavaScript, CFML (Coldfusion), HTML, JQuery, CSS, VB.NET is required.
•Experience with React and Node is desirable.
•Familiarity with web application development in Windows or Linux environment is preferred.
•Experience with relational databases (Oracle or SQL server) and SQL.
•Previous experience working in the health care industry, specifically HMO, is a plus.
•Demonstrated use of intermediate computer operations (basic programming in 3rd and 4th generation languages, relational databases, and operating systems) and intermediate software packages, (word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.).
•Knowledge of deployments with Jenkins and Docker a plus.
•Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
