We are hiring a Buyer Planner I. The Buyer Planner is responsible for maintaining an efficient, cost conscious, organized, and responsive Purchasing department. The person in this role will be responsible for source selection and procurement functions directly associated with the Company's needs for materials, services, fixed assets, and select production materials and services. The Buyer Planner performs supplier management activities, including the procurement of production and non-production materials. In addition, this role is dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers in accordance to our quality policies.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional team (i.e. Marketing, QA, Regulatory, etc.) in sorting out customer raw material demands and drive order fulfillment from material suppliers
- Secure and analyze quotations, negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, and recommend suppliers with respect to cost, quality, and delivery competitiveness for assigned responsibilities
- Maintain and communicate material availability and supplier commitment information
- Assist in identification and qualification of new sources of supply to support the business strategies
- Review, approve, and coordinate change to specifications as required
- Issue purchase orders using ERP system and ensure suppliers confirm receipt of PO
- Assess and process change notifications from suppliers
- Maintain supplier item details on raw material specifications
- Collaborate with Facilities, Engineering, and EMS groups to understand their sourcing needs and issue purchase orders while meeting the appropriate need-by-date
- Review open Purchase Order List and follow up on updated delivery time with suppliers to ensure assurance of supply
- Resolve any supplier invoice discrepancies with suppliers and Finance
- Contribute to Total Cost of Ownership savings target as set forth by the Supply Chain management
- Contribute to standard cost setting for internal financial analysis annually
- Manage supplier relationships in building stronger understanding of processes, forecast, and supplier capabilities
- Other duties as assigned
Experience/ Education:
- Bachelor's Degree with concentration in Supply Chain, Operations, Mathematics, Economics, Purchasing, or related science or finance industry
- Buyer and/or Supply Planning experience in Jeeves ERP or other related inventory planning tools preferred
- Competent and knowledgeable in utilizing best practices in inventory management, APICS, or other Supply Chain organization experience is preferred
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Expert level Microsoft Excel and database reporting skills is a plus
- Ability to identify and evaluate key supply issues for the company and develop alternative solutions to meet KPI goals
- 2-3 years of buying and/or planning experience in similar or equivalent role is preferred
- Life sciences experience or regulated industry experience is beneficial
