Beacon Resources Los Angeles is conducting a search for a Director of Accounting to join a popular, fast-growth, pre-IPO, Consumer Products company. This is a stellar opportunity for the Senior Accounting Manager to make the next step in your career.

Job - The Director of Accounting will take on a leadership role within the accounting department. The successfully hired Director of Accounting will be directing all full-cycle accounting functions for the company. You will report to a VP of Accounting & Finance.

Compensation/Benefits - Starting salary range begins at $150,000/year, and increases with experience. The company offers competitive benefits: (401(k) match, Half-Day Fridays, and 100% employer-paid health benefits for the employee.

DIRECTOR OF ACCOUNTING DUTIES

Corporate/Operational Accounting

• Execute month-end and quarter-end closes, including gathering and recording of journal entries, and accounting statement reconciliations and bank reconciliations
• Tighten # of days to close the General Ledger
• Oversee all accounting operations functions, including payroll, Accounts Payable (A/P), Accounts Receivable (A/R), and Commissions
• Manage a team of 5 Accounting professionals
• Oversee external audits with Big 4 firm
• Develop and modify accounting processes as it relates to all Accounts Payable (A/P), Accounts Receivable (A/R), and Payroll areas
• Work with vendors on their creditworthiness, their financing (factoring and letters of credit), and their payment schedules

Financial Reporting

• Prepare consolidated financial package to Executives and Board with key analysis
• Advise on current GAAP guidance and implement/monitor internal controls

Miscellaneous

• Assist in software implementation and upgrade efforts
• Work with the Human Resources to properly apply payroll, commissions, and tax payments
• Accept other ad hoc duties as needed

DIRECTOR OF ACCOUNTING QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• Bachelors in Accounting or Business Administration with an Accounting focus, or equivalent work experience
• At least 8 years of progressive advancement in your career
• Current managerial experience (at least 4 years of managerial/supervisory experience)

Preferred

• Public CPA highly preferred
• IPO experience
• Current or recent experience working in a Consumer Products Goods (CPG) company
• International operations (i.e. with Foreign Exchange (FX) and/or tax)

DIRECTOR OF ACCOUNTING SKILLS

Required

Technical

• Strong technical accounting foundation, including US GAAP
• Current proficiency in a major ERP system
