Description

General Purpose of the Position

Responsible for developing, recommending and executing recruiting strategies to fill open positions as well as build recruiting and networking pipeline for talented professionals. The role helps the organization improve productivity and reduce turnover by identifying and attracting top-performing professionals to fill current or future openings. Using a consultative approach with the hiring managers, the Talent Acquisition Specialist helps to set the recruiting strategy to ensure a successful and timely search. This position will also provide input into the overall hiring strategy of the organization to ensure our teams consist of a diverse set of qualified individuals. They will leverage strategic thinking to make recommendations to advance our talent strategy, make real-time adjustments and recommendations, and manage internal partner expectations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. May perform other duties as requested or assigned.

  • Works with hiring managers and HR to determine staffing needs along with qualifications and skills required for open positions. Leverages departmental Strategic Workforce Plans to proactively prepare and plan for future talent needs.
  • Conducts regular follow-up with managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation.
  • Build and maintain a strong network of diverse candidates using all available resources including social media, recruiting tools, and active and passive recruiting sources through proactive market research, sourcing, and on-going relationship management. Serves as point of contact with agencies to supplement our hiring efforts (temp agencies, headhunters, career centers, universities, DEI organizations).
  • Reviews applications and resumes to identify and source quality candidates. Conducts preliminary interviews ensuring a high degree of skill, values and cultural alignment with the organization.
  • Demonstrates expert competence in interviewing skills applying a variety of techniques including skills analysis and behavioral interviewing.
  • Guides candidates and hiring managers through our applicant process and ensures a high-level of customer service by providing regular communication and feedback.
  • Maintains accurate and timely candidate records using the applicant tracking system. Reports status and candidate information timely to team and partners.
  • Assesses, adjust, and implement process improvement of current ATS (Paycom). Leverages employee profiles and departmental Strategic Workforce Planning maps in SumTotal.
  • Possesses extensive knowledge of federal and state laws regarding employment practices as well as understanding of company policies and procedures including EEO, the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, and any other emerging, new, or relevant regulations.
  • Administers the Affirmative Action Plan (AAP) reporting requirements and maintains appropriate documentation to ensure accurate reporting and 100% compliance.
  • Assists in the completion of VETS 100 and EEO-1 reporting requirements.
  • Develop and track recruiting and hiring process metrics and produce analysis to be used for business analytics.
  • Responsible for communicating with internal and external candidates throughout the process, including final notification to the candidates when they have not been selected for a position.
  • Appropriately posts positions on job boards and social networking sites. Works closely with the HR Business Partners to negotiate vendor contracts, report candidate status/hiring metrics, and support new hire onboarding. Also works closely with the HR Business Partners to ensure all employment documentation such as applications and employment background checks are completed.
  • Proactively builds and maintains a positive employment brand image in the marketplace. Uses and/or recommends investments in social media tools to further reach active and passive candidates. Researches and recommends programs and initiatives to further our recruiting efforts. Works with Marketing team to ensure our employment brand is well represented on website and other social media.
  • Works with HR Business Partners on leadership coaching both in training and 1-on-1 coaching to build their interviewing skills, selection criteria, and help mitigate organizational risk.
  • Participate in job fairs, conferences, and other networking events to support recruiting and diversity initiatives.
  • Assist with New Employee Orientation presentation and welcoming new employees to the organization.
  • Adhere to all Federal and State laws and regulations applicable to the credit union, including the Bank Secrecy Act and OFAC.
Qualifications

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) from an accredited four (4) year college or university, plus two years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Professional recruiting experience in either one or more areas of the recruitment life-cycle; assessing needs, posting jobs, sourcing candidates, screening candidates, interviewing, negotiating offers, and on-boarding or experience in executing sourcing strategies.

Relevant industry experience a plus. PHR or SHRM-CP (SHRM Certified Professional) preferred.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Must be a self-starter and team player with strong communication skills (written and verbal) and customer focused. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work independently yet balance a strong communication flow with peers and hiring managers. Proven team player with demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate in a project-based, interactive environment. Advanced internet search skills and proven track record in developing passive candidates for critical positions. Strong computer software skills and applicant tracking software expertise.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is typically required to sit for long periods. The employee continually is required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop and reach with hands and arms. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
