Job Description
Responsible for business relationship marketing of financial products and services, including all Business Banking and Commercial products. Provides oversight for those supervised in primary contacts, identifies customer needs, problems and plans. Keeps apprised of competitor marketing strategies, informational materials and pricing. Develops and analyzes competitive strategies and services. Creates a teamwork environment to help ensure quality service is provided. Conducts relationships and activities consistent with established Bank policies, procedures and systems, the corporate code of conduct, Bank Secrecy Act and all applicable State and Federal laws and regulations.
Responsible for business banking marketing and sales of financial products and services, including Treasury and commercial products.
Develops relationships and make presentations to a variety of potential clients.
Manages relationship with clients to ensure financial needs are met and expectations exceeded.
Provides sound financial advice and counsel to customers and prospective clients.
Presents alternative solutions for a variety of complex business situations.
Directly or indirectly, through business banking officers, calls on potential and/or existing clients to develop new business and increase or retain relationships with current clients.
Analyzes economic and industry market trends to identify potential business opportunities and high-risk situations.
Develops a business development marketing plan utilizing effective sales techniques that will generate new relationships and sell additional products.
Demonstrates highest level of professionalism, strategic effectiveness and customer service.
Develops and maintains a thorough knowledge of the bank's services, operations, and organization; communicates this understanding to others, and refers inquiries and correspondence to the proper employees or departments.
Develops and maintains a thorough knowledge and understanding of the Bank's credit philosophy in serving current and prospective borrowers.
Actively participates in and leads sales programs; attends appropriate sales meetings/training; works with Executive Vice President and President to set goals and works to achieve targeted goals.
Makes effective referrals to business units for traditional and non-traditional banking products and services.
Must have willingness to assume additional responsibilities/duties/projects as they arise.
Responsible for compliance with all banking regulations which are applicable to the job, including Bank Secrecy Act and information security initiatives.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience providing required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Business development and relationship building experience required.
Possesses a strong background in bank policies, procedures, and banking regulations (state and federal).
Thorough knowledge of bank products and services.
Excellent verbal, listening and communication skills.
Strong customer relations skills and ability to work with employees and customers in a cooperative manner.
Ability and desire to lead and work as part of a team and with people of diverse backgrounds.
Demonstrated skill in soliciting business for bank deposit products and services.
Ability to identify client needs, present banking solutions and bank products.
Ability to recognize closing opportunities and retain and grow customer relationships.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Must possess excellent judgment skills.
Ability to make decisions, work independently, handle confidential information and manage multiple tasks.
Ability and desire to be actively involved in community networking to identify and capitalize on new business development opportunities.
