The Opportunity

The built environment is generating nearly 40% of the total global carbon footprint. With global warming and urbanization this trend can only increase unless we decide to combat it. Many corporations have made pledges to reduce to NCZ but the road to deliver on these promises still needs to be defined and implemented. JLL manages more than 5 billion square feet on behalf of our clients, and therefore we have an important role to play in driving the sustainability agenda to shape a better world.

To achieve this ambitious goal, we will need to engage with our clients as the vast majority of our scope 3 emissions are generated by their portfolios. With this commitment we must deploy best in class sustainability practices with all of our clients across the 5 billion square feet that we manage globally, whether investors or occupiers, from strategy to transforming assets, project management down to managing assets.

The Role

We are seeking a Global Head of Sustainable Operations who will report to our newly appointed Global Head of Sustainability, Guy Grainger. Guy and his leadership team will be accountable for defining and delivering our sustainability strategy across the global enterprise.

The Global Head of Sustainable Operations will play a crucial role in creating and leading a strong Energy & Sustainability (E&S) team across the regions. The role oversees a global team of 200 (and growing) people that will deliver E&S products, solutions and tools for a wide variety of real estate clients.

Key responsibilities include:

Strategy Development/Execution:

* Develop and deliver together with the Regional Managers the Global E&S strategy & business plan.
* Oversee the design and implementation of global platform delivery model that will meet client needs, delivery and quality targets
* Develop account delivery plans to support client retention, cross selling, client satisfaction, and account growth.
* Partner with Product Management on the development of innovative E&S product strategy
* Lead the development of strong and ongoing analytic capabilities to embed foundational fact-based internal and external data, benchmarks and industry trends that support short and long-term strategies and outcomes with specific goals, deliverables and metrics

Leadership

* Create a solution-oriented environment whereby the team is consistently seeking to identify leading edge best practices focused on delivering value to the client while working within the process requirements of the account and JLL.
* Partner with Client-Facing and Sales teams to ensure that appropriate renewal strategies are in place.
* Drive consistency of delivery of E&S across Geos including reporting requirements, policies and procedures
* Collaborate with Operations Enablement to implement guidelines/tools for and monitor performance of client satisfaction.

People Management:

* Lead global existing team and grow the team globally to meet fast increasing client demand
* Develop a culture focused on clients, people and teamwork, accountability, continuous improvement and innovation
* Responsible for end-to-end employee management including hiring, onboarding, leading developing and mentor team members.
* Diversify and develop workforce to meet evolution of client demand with a strong focus on technology

Relationship Management / Client Service

* Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key clients.
* Ensure high level of execution and client satisfaction for all services performed and that the team exceeds targets.

Operations

* Provide leadership for consistent delivery of E&S across Geos including reporting requirements, policies and procedures
* Ensure regulatory and compliance requirements are met for delivery of E&S in respective Geos and appropriate risk control plans, procedures in place
* Develop implementation guidelines/tools for and monitoring performance of client satisfaction.

Budget Management

* Accountability for cost management applicable Platform elements and accountability for cost of Platform elements as percent of revenue
* Determines "cost-to-serve" for E&S

The Candidate

The successful candidate will have a strong combination of operations leadership experience, transformation skills, the ability to lead multiple & diverse teams across regions and locations and collaborate effectively across functions to deliver strategy and business plan.

The candidate needs a demonstrable and highly commercial mind-set, strong financial acumen. A logical, structured approach to problem solving and common sense are key.

Experience

* Ability to lead large global & diverse teams through influence.
* Experience in effectively designing, gain alignment and successfully execute significant globla transformation change initiatives from project start to finish
* Commercially and financially astute, strong experience in managing a P&L
* Excellent analytical and program management skills
