Leidos is looking for a highly-motivated, first-class Litigation Support Trial Consultant and Presentation Specialist to join the Tax Division of the U.S. Department of Justice at One Constitution Square, 1275 1st Street NE, Washington, DC 20002. Primary Responsibilities include:
- Provides pre-trial and in courtroom trial support including exhibit preparation,and conducting hot seat operation activities during trial, arbitrations, mediations, hearings, jury research and client meetings
- Work effectively with the trial team, including expert witnesses, to develop and execute plans for trial or hearings using a courtroom presentation system
- Prepares exhibit images for particular uses (e.g. zooming in on or highlighting a particular paragraph, or setting up two exhibits side by side on the screen)
- Develops simple graphic images/exhibits using standard off-the-shelf software packages
- Advises attorneys on the effectiveness of certain exhibits or sequences of exhibits
- Is responsible for the smooth operation of the presentation system in the courtroom
- Digitizes audio and video clips
- Synchronizes clips with written transcripts
- Note that, for most trials, even including most large trials, the Courtroom Presentation Specialist will be the only contractor staff member working with the attorneys in preparing for trial and in presenting materials in the courtroom
- The Courtroom Presentation Specialist needs to be a "jack-of-all-trades" capable of performing all trial and courtroom support functions, including designing courtroom display schematics, equipment set up and troubleshooting, scripting, advising on graphics presentations, and courtroom operation of equipment
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required from an accredited college in Multimedia, Digital Design, Marketing, Fine Arts, or related concentration or discipline
- Minimum experience of 10 trials supporting and consulting with trial teams on the use of technology in the courtroom
- Must be thoroughly familiar with standard courtroom presentation packages such as Trial Director and Sanction
- Must have experience with AV equipment, Relativity, IPRO, Sanction, CaseMap, TextMap, Trial Director, Sanction, MS Office, Adobe Products, and/or other tools needed to handle exhibits, audio/video and demonstratives, including hot seat operations
- Must have excellent oral communication skills
- Must be able to work effectively as a team member in an extremely pressured environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a trial team through the entire pretrial and trial cycle, identifying and scanning exhibits, scripting with the attorneys, setting up the courtroom, operating and troubleshooting the system in the courtroom, discuss and develop strategic visuals to associate with case presentation
- Must have experience supporting mobile devices, tablets and iPads at trial
- Must be able to travel for long periods of time.
- Must be able to work long hours for an extended period of time
- Must be able to obtain a favorably adjudicated Public Trust Clearance

- A law degree or litigation paralegal training preferred.
