Description

Serves as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization in order to provide technical solutions so that organizational initiatives are successfully achieved. Analyzes business partner's operations to understand their strengths and weaknesses to formulate improvement opportunities. Translates high-level business requirements into functional specifications for the IT organization and manages changes to such specifications. Negotiates agreements and commitments by facilitating communication between business unit and IT from initial requirements to final implementation. Works independently and leads initiatives autonomously driving project milestones forward. Ongoing maintenance and enhancement of existing applications to support business projects and initiatives.

Leads / Participates in all aspects of the System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including, but not limited to: planning, requirements, design, and testing so that business or project needs are achieved. Evaluates how changing business needs and evolving technological tools and trends affect existing systems and processes.

Leads / Participates in all aspects of the Project Management Lifecycle as dictated by the project team so that business or project needs are achieved. Additional responsibilities include stakeholder communication, budget and resource management.

Negotiates with management to identify opportunities for process improvements to provide efficiencies or improved operational / financial controls for the organization.

Promotes and supports the change management tools and processes for new development and system maintenance, so that Hannover Re's change management protocols adhere to the pre-defined guidelines.

Provides training, consulting, and technical support for application systems so that business users and technical staff perform their job functions more effectively.

Prepares and maintains documentation for application systems so that Hannover Re's system documentation remains current.

Qualifications
Essential knowledge skills and abilities: Education, certifications, licensure, industry-specific experience, and experience working with certain equipment or systems, and skill proficiency levels that are required for job eligibility.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related discipline and/or work experience
- 5 or more years of relevant technical, testing, or business work experience. Minimum of 2 years life insurance industry experience
- General project management abilities, including an understanding of the project management framework, and ability to manage project tasks, budgets, and resources as assigned
- Ability to work with business partners between multiple business functions to align technology solutions with business strategies
- Demonstrates an informed knowledge of multiple business areas to resolve problems for more complex recurring and new business initiatives
- Ability to multi-task and juggle competing priorities; Works on multiple projects simultaneously as a project team member
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PC software: Excel, Word, Access, Visio, and Outlook
- Advanced spreadsheet and database skills
- Ability to analyze disparate sources of data and generate data processing specifications

Travel: Percentage of travel time expected for the position, where the travel occurs, and whether the travel is overnight.

Compensation: Minimum of $ 76,400 (Base + Bonus per year)
Colorado Salary Statement: The salary range displayed is specifically for those potential hires who will work or reside in the state of Colorado if selected for the role.
