Is responsible for providing ecological consulting services related to the potential of any State and/or Federally listed animal or plant species, wetlands, or other related ecological considerations which may have an effect on the development of a property.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

* Perform protected species assessments
* Conduct coordination, permitting, and mitigation of impacts to listed species and their habitat
* Perform wetland assessments, delineations, and jurisdictional determinations and field verifications with regulatory agencies
* Perform UMAM Calculations
* Develop solutions and present wetland mitigation plans
* Prepare Environmental Resource Permits
* Collect data and present findings and recommendations in technical reports
* Work with clients to understand needs and develop technical proposals to sell service offering
* Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with other agencies, organizations, institutions, industry groups, and individuals in meeting program needs and goals.
* Perform routine regulatory coordination
* Ability to work outside for extended periods of time
* Other duties may be assigned

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

Valid Driver's License

Authorized Gopher Tortoise Agent (preferred)

USAEC Wetland Delineation Training Certification (preferred)

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

5+ years' experience with wetlands, species and/or ecological services

Bachelor's degree (BS) in Environmental Science, Biology, or related field (preferred)

Master's degree (MS) in Environmental Sustainability, Environmental Science, or Biology, three years related experience and/or training

Knowledge of USACOE, FDEP and WMD rules and regulations (required)

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
