Job description

The HEAT Human Resources Team is hiring! We are looking to add to a part time Human Resources Assistant with excellent organization skills and attention to detail to our team. The main function of this position is to provide support to the different areas of the HR Department, including but not limited to administrative functions.
Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain records (digital/electronic and paper files) for recruiting team. This includes employment files, job descriptions, and job reqs.
  • Process all terminations through UltiPro.
  • Send monthly new hire/termination reports to all applicable departments.
  • Assign new hires trainings through Fred Pryor after New Hire Orientation.
  • Assess the status of pre-employment screenings and send daily security clearance report. Send Pre-Adverse/Adverse Action Letters when needed.
  • Audit employment status for employees that need to reverify their employment authorization.
  • Register and prepare for all in-state job fairs and attend when needed.
  • Assist in the facilitation of the Summer Internship Program by coordinating and facilitating events (Workshop Wednesdays, Leadership Presentations, Award Ceremony) and answering all intern inquiries.
  • Process new hires, post jobs, conduct tours, pre-screen candidates, schedule interviews, intake meetings, and interview days as needed.
  • Assist the Benefits team with Open Enrollment, Health Fairs, coordination of exit interviews, communications and other Benefit functions.
  • Manage employee relations activities (i.e. birthday/anniversary cards and lists, company functions, employee goodwill, awards and recognition, etc.)
  • Respond to general HR inquiries made by The HEAT Group staff via e-mail, telephone and in-person.
  • Other duties as specified by HR team.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a 4-year college, preferably with a degree in Human Resources, or one to two years of Human Resources experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret. Ability to optimally present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
