Job Description:

At our firm, the Salesperson reports directly to the Owner and the Director of Operations.

We have a strong marketing program that will bring you qualified leads. We need you to convert those leads into clients. You will need to be able to enter an empathetic sales conversation to help people understand how we can help them with their problems and to become an engaged client. Potential clients are often hesitant to act.

Once the client has engaged the firm, you will hand off the person to our legal staff and your role will be modified to that of maintaining customer relations.
Key Tasks:

  • Conduct in-depth meetings* (in-person preferred) with new clients to:
  • Collect information about the person and the matters for which they are seeking the Firm's help
  • Show compassion for, and the ability to listen to, the potential client's legal troubles
  • Understand, and help the client understand, the difference between "cost" and "value"
  • Convey a sense of urgency
  • Understand the prospect's needs and how we can help them
  • Get the client to engage the firm and pay the retainer
  • Oversee the smooth transition of the client's matter to the legal team
  • Maintain, and update daily, our new client tracking system to monitor and report progress with potential client's, referral sources, and leads
  • Maintain client relations throughout the case
  • Once a client's file is closed, operate the "post-case" follow up systems to nurture past client relationships causing more new referrals and new matters from the client base
  • Consultative Sales experience is a must

Skills:

You must be confident, articulate, organized, professional, and comfortable representing the Firm while speaking with potential clients and any other members of the community. You must see sales as a service we perform for our clients, not as something to be done "to" them. You must be self-motivated and self-directed to achieve your own, as well as the Firm's, professional goals. You do not take "no" for an answer.

In addition, the ideal candidate:

  • Is a positive person and always sees the glass as half-full
  • Loves to work with people and communicate over the phone
  • Is extraordinarily organized
  • Loves to learn
  • Has experience with CRMs, in particular, Salesforce
  • Has experience with Microsoft Office software (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Can think on your feet and make smart decisions.
  • Isn't afraid to make mistakes, own up to them, and grow
  • Takes responsibility for everything that happens in their life
  • Is open to both personal and professional development, on a daily basis
  • Has a thick skin (sometimes law practice can be stressful)
  • Always shows up on time

We expect our team members to give 100% when you are at work, during regular business hours. However, we make it a point not to intrude on our team's time when out of the office, unless there is an actual emergency.

While base compensation is hourly and commission, there is no theoretical limit to how much someone can make. We incentivize our team to create better client experiences and allow us to help more people. In support of that, we give quarterly and annual bonuses for furthering that mission.

Education:

We are an absolute meritocracy. We don't give a $#!+ about where you went to school or how many years of experience you have. We care about what you can do.

However, for this position, candidates should have experience in sales and be able to demonstrate a proven track record of successfully handling customers. Non-attorneys are encouraged to apply.
