POSITION SUMMARY

Serves as a Human Resources Specialist at Unifi. They perform a combination of routine, multiple, and varying HR assignments. Provide professional-level support of human resources functions within a unit. Includes serving as an information resource on human resources-related processes and procedures as well as initiating and processing of HR documentation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TASKS

  • Coordinate and administer various aspects of the organization's compensation and benefit, recruitment, orientation, payroll, and employee relations programs
  • Administer the staff recruitment and selection process (placing ads, interviewing, processing applications, contacting managers, provide feedback regarding the candidates, handling selection process tasks)
  • Maintain accurate records for individual employees regarding pay rates, shift details, promotions, transfers, sick leave, etc.
  • Update all employee spreadsheets
  • Performs various tasks associated with the organization's human resources programs including but not limited to generating correspondence, charts, tables, graphs, etc.
  • Assists with HR training and orientation preparation.
  • Assists with reference checks, background checks, licensure/registration verification, etc.
  • Responsible for monthly compliance reports and follow up.
  • Performs HRIS data entry.
  • Responsible for personnel file maintenance and audits.
  • Appropriately tracks and manages inquiries and requests from employees and HR team members; adheres to established service level agreements. Handles all data in a confidential manner.
  • Enter and maintain accurate data for the full employee life cycle, updated in real-time.
  • Conduct regular data validation audits.
  • Prepares or maintains employment records and files related to events such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions.
  • Ensures records are maintained in compliance with HR practices and DGS policies.
  • Revises human resource documents, procedures, and forms and assists with the administration of policies, programs, procedures, and processes in the direction of HR leadership.
  • Assists with the performance management process as required.
  • Makes photocopies; mails, scans, and email documents; and performs other clerical functions.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, labor relations, or business or a field related to the position preferred.
  • Experience performing basic human resources, payroll, customer service, or general office duties.
  • Proficiency on computers including Microsoft Office products and HRIS systems.
  • Strong interpersonal /communication skills - able to communicate and establish effective working relationships with all departments.
