Job description
Responsible for full cycle recruitment to include researching, developing, and implementing long term and effective recruiting and staffing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified talent for the organization. This includes sourcing, screening, interviewing, and conducting orientation for all areas of responsibility. The Talent Acquisition Specialist represents the organization at career related events and is responsible for recruitment marketing and initiates communications to support sourcing talent. In partnership with departments, the incumbent provides guidance related to fair hiring practices, employment policies and orientation processes.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Works closely with the Associate Director of Human Resources on various special projects as well as daily workflow.
- Develops, facilitates, and implements all phases of the recruitment process to ensure a positive experience.
- Generates recruitment reports and analyzes trends and metrics to include turnover, average time to fill, and vacancy reports, and works with HR Leadership to develop solutions, programs and strategies.
- Responsible for job postings and advertisements to include collaboration with department managers to ensure accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria.
- Devise and implement sourcing strategies to build pipelines of potential applicants, such as employer branding initiatives and the continuous development of networks/partnerships to satisfy the current and future staffing needs.
- Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the organization.
- Screens applications and resumes to identify qualified candidates to include sourcing applicants through online channels, such as recruitment and social media sites, and/or other professional networks
- Research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting.
- Assists department with the interview process; oversees preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials. May attend or conduct interviews with hiring managers as needed.
- Collaborates with the hiring manager and/or other HR Leadership during the offer process, identifying and recommending salary ranges, incentives, start dates, and other pertinent details prior to conducting formal offer.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.
- Organize and attend job fairs and recruitment events to build a strong candidate pipeline.
- Coordinates and/or assists with annual and special social functions such as annual picnics, holiday parties and awards events.
- Responsible for all aspects of the pre-hire process to include background and reference screenings with department assistance.
- Responsible for conducting orientation, to include the maintenance of content and materials presented or distributed.
- Independently evaluates and monitors the hiring of temporary employees for defined areas of responsibility while complying with the Temporary Labor Protocol.
Job Specifications:
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience, required.
- At least 3 years of experience in recruitment and hiring required.
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR), SHRM-CP or equivalent preferred.
- Must stay current with federal and state regulations.
- Ability to identify and organize priorities coordinates projects and work independently.
- Proficient with fully integrated HRIS platform and Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Demonstrated high level of discretion and confidentiality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Public speaking experience a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with good negotiation tactics.
- Ability to create and implement sourcing strategies for recruitment for a variety of roles
- Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Pleasant and comfortable work environment. Routinely works customary hours, although deadlines may require extended working hours. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
