Job description

PowerFlex delivers commercial and industrial customers a full range of turnkey clean energy solutions: solar, storage, smart EV charging, microgrids, and energy management systems. The Company was founded in 2017 by a Caltech research group who developed a patented Adaptive Load Management (ALM) technology to optimize power consumption across a large network of charging stations. PowerFlex Systems was acquired by EDF Renewables North America in 2019, and consolidated with EnterSolar, a leading commercial solar developer, in 2021 to expand its onsite solar offerings.


Scope of Job: The HR Coordinator Consultant will help with the administration and coordination of the company-wide human resources policies, procedures and practices in accordance with stated corporate objectives and federal and state legal requirements. Under the leadership of the Head of HR, this individual will work closely with the Senior HR Manager and Talent Partner in all areas of HR. The ideal candidate will be a hard-working professional able to work diligently and independently under pressure. This person will be comfortable working with a high degree of attention to detail and discretion as well as incorporating new and effective ways to achieve better results.



Responsibilities:

  • Assist in administering company-wide human resources policies, procedures, and practices in accordance with stated corporate objectives and federal and state legal requirements.
  • Assists in coordination of employee benefit programs including but not limited to health insurance, long term disability insurance, life insurance, COBRA, FMLA, and other programs.
  • Responds to employee's benefit questions, resolves problems regarding access to or payment of benefits, orients newly eligible employees, and processes enrollment forms and change requests.
  • Prepares and maintains human resources and employee benefits data and reports.
  • Verifies I-9 documentation and maintains that they are current.
  • Administers safety programs, investigates accidents, and prepares reports.
  • Reviews benefit plans for compliance with government regulations.
  • Assists with processing of terminations and coordination of offboarding employees.
  • Assists with the preparation of the performance review process.
  • Coordinates new employee orientation and onboarding to ensure full employee file.
  • Interfaces with managers and health care professionals to coordinate accommodations, return-to-work, light-duty, and other responses for injured or disabled employees.
  • Assures required labor law posters are in place.
  • Schedules temporary workers as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
  • Assist Sr. HR Manager and Talent Partner on various ad hoc projects.



Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) with one to three years related experience and/or training.
  • Working knowledge of HR laws and regulations including but not limited to CA, NY and NJ.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize workload and deliver quality results on time while working on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Plan and organize tasks to consistently produce results, with minimal supervision.
  • Acute attention to detail.
  • Strong follow up and follow through skills with minimal management required.
  • High level of emotional intelligence.
  • Positive attitude with an openness to feedback.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.

  • Able to work in a discreet manner and understands confidentiality when working in HR.

  • No job is too small or big mentality and the eagerness to learn all areas of HR.
  • Excellent note taking skills.
  • Metrics-focused with intermediate to expert skills in Excel.
