Job description

We offer a $2,000 sign-on bonus and an excellent starting wage of $21.00/hr. plus shift differential for 3rd shift.

Position Summary:

Performs laboratory tests and activities consistent with a viable quality assurance program. Activities to include but not limited to bacteriological, analytical, and organoleptic testing. Maintenance of all recorded documentation for finished product, raw material, and packaging testing. The successful Lab Technician can work with limited supervision while maintaining a high level of work completion, accurate complete documentation and exhibits a high level of personal accountability.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Monitor and maintain hold and release program
• Proper sampling and analytical techniques
• Complete and submit, orderly, accurate and legible documentation
• Teamwork within quality department and other departments
• Work independently with understanding of time management to complete daily activities on time

Key Activities:

• Sample Preparation and Pathogen Testing Records Maintenance.
• Perform Testing- analytical and microbiological.
• Positive Release Program.
• Responsible for complying to all Safe Quality Food (SQF) polices/procedures and requirements for position.
• Monitor GMP's, sanitation procedures,and quality procedures as set forth by QA and/or supervisors in all areas of the plant.
• Maintain sanitary conditions, organize, monitor inventory of supplies and report equipment faults in the laboratory.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Skills Required:

• Attention to detail.
• Strong Communication skills.
• Familiar with Excel spreadsheets
• Climb several flights of stairs multiple times daily
• Travel between Chicago locations as needed-approximately one mile one way

Necessary Experience:

• 1-2 Years in food Industry. Education will be considered in lieu of experience
• High School education.
