Overview

Leveraging BNY Mellon's strengths as a leading asset management, wealth management and investment servicing firm, BNY Mellon Investor Solutions offers OCIO, OIO and customized multi-asset class solutions to institutional investors worldwide. Clients include nonprofits, retirements plans, family offices and financial intermediaries. The team comprises over 60 investment professionals with expertise across multiple areas including asset allocation, portfolio design, manager research/selection, performance/risk analysis and trust and custody facilitation.

The successful candidate will be a seasoned institutional investment professional who will evaluate and pursue new business opportunities and prospects for BNY Mellon Investor Solutions' full suite of investment advisory and customized portfolio management solutions. Our prospects are significantly large and complex institutions whose needs are typically cross-enterprise and may involve a multi-year or long-term pursuit approach.

Key responsibilities:

  • Execute on the strategic commercial objectives for Investor Solutions.
  • Identify potential prospects by pursuing advantageous strategic partnerships with other lines of business to achieve organic incremental growth from prospects and existing clients of the firm.
  • Independently develop leads through in-depth industry research and an understanding of the market environment, including short- and long-term trends, competitor offerings, regulatory developments etc.
  • Serve in a consultative role to internal partners and prospects, advising how to achieve strategic objectives through IS's solutions.
  • Screen and evaluate prospects by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, growth potential, financials, and internal firm priorities.
  • Close new prospects by structuring deals (pricing, contract terms, etc.) that achieve optimal terms for both the client and the firm.
  • Marshal firm-wide resources (marketing, legal, compliance, etc.) to ensure the most appropriate response to prospect proposals and deal structure.
  • Identify, coordinate, and participate in opportunities for enhancing the Company's visibility through marketing, events and thought leadership.
  • Track and report on business development results.


Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Advanced/graduate degree or CFA preferred. 10-12 years of total work experience preferred. Financial Services experience with a Solutions business preferred. Applicable local/regional licenses or certifications as required by the business. A good understanding of the relevant marketplace, competitive landscape and industry drivers in the relevant region is preferred. As global firm, bilingual capabilities are helpful as is an understanding of local/cultural nuances important for client trust.
