Overview:
The Vice President, Corporate Strategy, alongside the Chief Growth Officer, leads development and implementation of Breakthru's Long-term Strategy. This leader will partner with the CEO, CGO, Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and Commercial Leadership Team (CLT) to realize Breakthru's vision of becoming the leading beverage company in North America. This leader will develop short- and long-term initiatives that support Breakthru's four strategic pillars of Growth, Talent, Productivity, and Innovation. This leader will also partner with executive leaders to further develop the long-term strategy of the company and drive progress / implementation across the five critical strategic focus areas of Revenue Management, Efficient Organization, Digital Evolution, Portfolio Strategy, and Optimizing Fulfillment. Working with the Director of Strategy/Corporate Development, the VP Corporate Strategy will provide support as needed to outside-the-core initiatives, including Corporate Venture Capital, New Frontiers and M&A efforts, including due diligence and merger integration support. These roles and expanded areas of opportunity constitute the "strategic hub" at Breakthru and will work closely with the Chief Growth Officer and CEO to guide the long-term strategic direction of the company. This role will also be responsible for leading an agile team of internal strategists/consultants that operate across Strategy, New Frontiers, and Corporate Development initiatives.

This role can be based out of NYC or Chicago

Responsibilities:
Total Beverage Alcohol Strategy Development and Execution:

Lead development and execution of core TBA long-term strategy for Breakthru

Lead strategic planning process for the company

Partner with Chief Commercial Officer and EVP, Supplier Business Development to enhance Portfolio Strategy

Develop and execute Efficient Organization strategy in partnership with Chief HR Officer

Partner with CFO to deliver Revenue Management objectives

Partner with Chief Growth Officer, VP Digital and eCommerce, and Chief Information Officer to set and deliver objectives for Digital Evolution

Partner with EVP Operations to develop and deliver Optimizing Fulfillment strategy and objectives

Strategic Project Management / Internal Consulting:

Lead and/or support variety of strategic initiatives across the enterprise; act as internal consulting team to the broader Breakthru organization

Facilitate and action strategic working sessions across the organization on behalf of Corporate Strategy

Guide strategic decision-making processes; develop and evaluate strategic proposals and alternatives for ELT consideration

Foster alignment of commercial, functional, M&A, and transformation strategies with long-term view

Coordinate with CFO to build and maintain scorecard for long-term strategic plan and associated financial objectives

Maintain up-to-date view of beverage alcohol market conditions and distributor competitive environment, in partnership with Supplier Business Development team

Executive Stakeholder and Board Engagement:

Lead coordination and/or development of internal and external corporate presentations for CEO, EVP Chief Growth Officer, and Other Executive leaders

Act as a thought partner to CGO, ELT and CLT leaders

Collaborate with Director, Strategy and Corporate Development to develop and deliver materials for quarterly board meetings

M&A: Strategic Diligence, New Frontiers, and Post-Merger Integration

Collaborate with Director, Strategy and Corporate Development to confidentially identify and vet potential merger candidates against BBG strategic goals prior to diligence process

Coordinate with Vice President, New Frontiers to identify and drive strategic opportunities for partnership or investment outside of Breakthru's core business to drive long-term growth

Manage and lead various post-merger integration workstreams with Strategy Team

Talent / Stakeholder Management

Responsible for the direct management and talent development of 2-3 direct reports

Significant indirect (internal and external) stakeholder management and responsibility

Other duties, as assigned by the jobholder's supervisor, may also be required

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in related field and/or equivalent training and work experience

Minimum of 10 years' experience in Corporate Strategy, Cross-Functional Commercial, and/or Strategy Consulting

Advanced PC skills using MS Office and other various computer programs including presentation software

Experience in with CPG

Must be a results-oriented professional with verbal/written communication skills using diplomacy and discretion as well as customer service skills

Ability to multi-task, work independently and/or within a team, pay attention to detail and meet deadlines

Analytical leadership skills

Utilize sound judgement and problem-solving skills

Ability to work in fast-paced, high-volume, team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

MBA

Prior experience as Strategy Consultant above the manager-level strongly preferred

Beverage Alcohol experience

Proven project management experience at executive level strongly preferred

Proven direct people management / multiple stakeholder experience

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone

Competencies:

Requires conceptual thinking to understand complex issues and their implications, where sufficient information may not be available.
