JOB DESCRIPTION
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of ten or more engineers for engineering and design tasks in the process design area of assigned projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
-Translate project design basis requirements, client specifications, and contract documents into definable process tasks and manage a team of individuals who execute this work to meet client expectations and schedule commitments.
-Support our quality program ensuring proper quality checks and ensuring proper documentation of input data.
-Responsible for engineering and design of the Process engineering scopes of assigned projects. Independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
-Must be able to manage a portfolio of many small projects or a large/EPC project as required.
-Supervise, coordinate, and review work of a staff of engineers to accomplish objectives as well as be an individual contributor as required.
-Responsible for developing process flow diagrams and piping and instrumentation diagrams.
-Responsible for sizing and rating various equipment like pumps, horizontal and vertical vessels, shell and tube heat exchangers, and air coolers.
-Responsible for performing hydraulic analysis and calculations for piping systems. Experience to include evaluating systems involving single-phase, two-phase, slurries, water hammer, slug flow, and distribution networks. Tools required should range from a spreadsheet through rigorous software evaluations in Korf, Fathom, Arrow, or similar.
-Participate in Process Hazard Analysis, LOPA, and other safety-related studies.
-Responsible for the design of relief systems, flare header design, relief valve sizing, and performing contingency analysis and flare header analysis.
-Present technical information to peers, clients, or other personnel.
-Incorporate process requirements into technical specifications to be issued for procuring equipment and instruments.
-Analyze problems and take appropriate action to ensure continuous and reliable operation of equipment and systems while maintaining compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
-Estimate resource requirements of new project proposals in support of business development.
-Coordinate with offshore High-Value Engineering Center to delegate significant portions of the engineering scope.
-Responsible for timely submittal of administrative aspects of project execution including weekly budget tracking, schedule updates, forecasts of effort to complete, and earned value tracking.
-Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
-Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering
-Professional Engineer Licensed
-25 years of experience working as an engineer in Process equipment-intensive industries such as Oil Refining, Gas Processing, Specialty Chemical plants, Grain Processing, or Pharmaceutical industries. 15 of those years to involve work in refining/gas processing or similar PSM regulated industries. Minimum 10 of these years working in an Engineering firm and managing a team of process engineers on capital/major maintenance projects.
