Job description

Overview:
The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for sourcing, screening and recommending candidates. This person must understand, model and represent Assurance and MMA's employment value proposition. He or she will identify opportunities to build applicant pools, establish trust and partnerships with the managers, identify potential colleagues through effective interviewing and testing, and ensure a positive new hire experience. Developing and executing recruitment plans and strategies are primary responsibilities to ensure hiring goals are met with the best possible talent. All activities will be performed in conjunction with Equal Employment Opportunity laws, HIPAA, ERISA and other regulations.

Responsibilities:
HIRING AND STAFFING

Follows the companies' hiring and interview best practices to identify and evaluate prospective employees

Demonstrates excellent interviewing skills and assesses candidates appropriately against established criteria and success factors

Demonstrates knowledge of recruitment and selection techniques and requirements, including compliance with state and federal laws regarding employment practices

Exhibits knowledge of hiring practices, behavioral-based interview techniques, tracking processes for applicants and open positions, and recruiting metrics

Develops recruitment and placement policies, systems, and procedures, including strategies and selection techniques

Conducts internal and external recruitment and placement activities of the company

Establishes and maintains relationships with hiring managers to stay abreast of current and future hiring and business needs

Establishes and maintains contacts with employment sources, such as colleges, staffing companies, search firms, and trade associations

Gathers and analyzes competitive industry information regarding salary, benefits, and employment practices

Implements strategies to identify, attract, and hire high quality employees

Prepares descriptions of job opportunities and accompanying compensation schedules

Proactively researches and investigates innovative sourcing strategies

TALENT STRATEGY

Creates and follows processes and tracking mechanisms to help hold managers accountable to following our talent assessment process and timeline

Trains managers and employees on our talent assessment process

Works with internal departments to ensure cohesiveness and that the client's needs are handled quickly and effectively

Effectively manages time to ensure workload is prioritized, employee's needs are addressed and expectations on client service and business process are met

Networks with industry leaders and professionals to strengthen candidate pipeline

DATA INTEGRITY & PROCESS QUALITY

Maintains accurate and complete client data in Applicant Tracking System

Consistently achieves data integrity, quality metrics and goals

Follows processes and procedures in recruiting workflow

Utilizes internal resources for identified processes to ensure efficiency and consistency in execution

PEER RELATIONSHIPS

Participates in Human Resources courses and webinars for skill and knowledge development

Provides feedback and shares information at team meetings

Participates in ongoing scheduled meetings with hiring manager to discuss recruiting needs

Trains, guides, and mentors others on the team as needed

Creates effective working relationships with Human Resources team, managers, external vendors, and colleagues in other agencies

Qualifications:
REQUIRED:

Comprehensive interviewing and sourcing experience

2+ years of broad, diversified recruiting and staffing

Demonstrated ability to source and manage candidates through the recruitment process

Experience managing end-to-end recruitment workflows in an ATS or candidate management system

PREFERRED:

BS/BA in Human Resources, Business, Insurance, or a related field

Insurance agency recruiting or staffing

Experience with Phenom or Workday Recruiter
