Job description
ERP Leader and Materials Manager
· The open position is for an ERP Leader & Materials Manager be based at our manufacturing facility in Elkhart, IN
· The selected candidate will take the lead in launching an ERP at our facility in 14-16 weeks while partnering with an ERP solution provider
· After the implementation is completed, this hire will transition into an ERP administrator role while increasing his/her focus on materials management and purchasing
· This position reports to the CFO and supports the plant manager
Job Requirements:
ERP Leader
This hire will lead the implementation of Optimal EV's chosen ERP solution and accomplish the following:
· Work with ERP implementation provider to configure ERP software to meet the following organizational requirements:
o Configure the ERP for manufacture of vehicle assemblies with management of multi-level sub-components, assembly build/unbuild, and inventory tracking of finished build vs. sub-components
o Set up ERP with Order Entry, G/L, vendor and part details, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Purchasing, Inventory, Cost and Expense tracking, use of Fulfillment Requests
o Set up ERP work orders for managing both Production Order and Special Order assembly build workflows to replenish stock levels or handle custom orders
· Take the lead to drive alignment between organization's processes and the ERP, set deadlines and ensure progress towards project and functional goals while adhering to timeline and budget
· Serve as the cross functional expert in Operations and Finance and as the internal "go-to person" during and after implementation
· During implementation phase, serve as the ERP lead and trainer for users in the organization. The implementation is estimated to take 25-50% of person's time during this period
· Post ERP launch, will serve as the administrator for the ERP through the product lifecycle. ERP administration is estimated to take 10-15% of time after implementation
Materials Manager
· Manage production flow and scheduling
· Responsible for part creation, maintaining the BOM and routing for parts and assemblies
· Serve as a liaison between sales planning, customer order scheduling, operations and purchasing
· Develop min/max inventory levels based on sales demand and manage inventory of direct material and indirect material to minimize working capital
· Execute placement of purchase orders to meet quantity, delivery date, quality, and cost targets
· Perform procurement responsibilities including material quoting and contract negotiations
· Monitor supplier compliance with company guidelines, policies, and procedures to ensure success in meeting customer fill rate, inventory turns, and inventory investment policies
· Maintain supplier quote data, preferred vendor lists, and set up new suppliers as required
· Support inventory counts and audits as required
Qualifications
· Requires Bachelor's degree with major in Business / Accounting / Supply Chain / Engineering
· At least 8-10 years of experience in Materials Management at a manufacturing company
· At least 2 years of experience in ERP implementation and user training at a manufacturing company
· Familiarity with ERPs like Netsuite or Make2Manage is a plus
· Familiarity with financial reporting software including Quickbooks is a plus
