Department Information

The Department of Enrollment Management at IU Fort Wayne encompasses admissions, student financial services, registrar, advising, and student success. Enrollment Management develops and implements strategies that leads to the campus' viability. We do this from the perspective of enhancing the experience of our students from the point of recruitment through graduation.

Job Summary

The individual in this entry level position is expected to work collaboratively across the department to assist in the coordination of recruitment initiatives and resources to develop seamless strategies to connect and build relationships with prospective students and their influencers. This individual, with guidance from the Recruitment Manager, will provide information and data that will assist in the development of a strategic recruitment and communication plan that establishes IUFW as the ideal environment for students to pursue their post-secondary educational goals. This position will also provide on-campus admissions and student financial services support to aid students through the application and admission process while assisting with enrollment focused activities, outreach, and reporting.

General Responsibilities:

  • Represent IUFW to prospective students and influencers with the highest degree of professionalism through an array of outreach programs and recruitment activities, including workshops, presentations, fairs, and high school visits.
  • Maintain partnerships with schools, community colleges, and organizations to facilitate collaborative programming and assist in recruiting, guiding and supporting college bound students.
  • Effectively coordinate an extensive fall travel schedule, as well as expected travel for the spring and summer.
  • Responsible for ensuring the growth and quality of recruitment programs through regular meetings with supervisor to monitor strategic planning.
  • Supports the implementation of programs for the recruitment of prospective students.
  • Contribute to individual, team, and unit goals on a daily, weekly, monthly basis so that enrollment targets are met.
  • Represents IUFW at recruitment events and programs on campus and in the community.
  • Serve as a source of information for prospective and continuing students and assist with student services-related issues, including financial aid, scholarships, housing and orientation.
  • Advise and counsel students regarding academic opportunities, scholarships and financial aid requirements, and when necessary, counsel students with academic deficiencies on next steps.
  • Responsible for correspondence with students for the purpose of providing critical information and negotiating complex problems in the areas of admissions and financial aid.
  • Reach out and maintain relationships with prospective students by establishing rapport and trust, educating them on IUFW programs and admissions requirements, and assisting prospective students through their application and enrollment process.
  • Facilitate individual and group campus visits for prospective students and their guests.
  • Proactively engage prospective students and guest visiting campus and assist with the student enrollment process.
  • Assists with the facilitation of visit programs, recruitment events and projects related to student yield and matriculation.
  • Participate in recruiting activities throughout the year both locally and those which may require travel.
  • Accurately document, maintain, and track prospective student and applicant interactions and progression through the student enrollment process in the CRM system.
  • Analyzes weekly reports to coordinate quality service efforts with the Recruitment, Admissions, and FA team to understand data-driven principles related to IUFW's strategic plan, mission and values.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Required
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university,
Preferred
  • Degree in a liberal arts discipline
WORK EXPERIENCE

Required
  • 1 year of experience in admissions, student services, event planning or transferable skills from advising, teaching or sales with identifiable public speaking experience.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

Required
  • Valid driver's license.
SKILLS

Required
  • Excellent customer service skills including strong cross-cultural, interpersonal, writing and public speaking skills and ability to represent IUFW in a positive way to diverse populations.
  • Ability to work effectively, efficiently, and both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment that is subject to constantly changing priorities.
  • Ability to work long hours and frequent weekend and evening work required during peak periods, travel is a necessary component of this position and loading and transporting admissions materials, displays and other equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
Preferred
  • Experience working in an admission office at a university or college as a tour guide, campus ambassador, or resident assistant, with preferred experience with a large public higher education institution.
  • Volunteers in a university setting.
  • Strong sense of initiative, the ability to work well independently and in a team, and the capacity to manage multiple responsibilities concurrently.
  • Previous work with students, parents, alumni and volunteers in a university setting.
