With our combined resources CommonSpirit is committed to building healthy communities advocating for those who are poor and vulnerable and innovating how and where healing can happen both inside our hospitals and out in the community.ResponsibilitiesAssumes responsibility, authority and accountability, in coordination with the pharmacists, for the Pharmacy Department during their respective shift.Develops and implements department objectives in collaboration with staff.Monitors performance of technician/intern staff; provides immediate feedback, involving management when necessary; promotes staff development.Promotes staff compliance of objectives and the implementation of procedures and policies.Participates in interviews for prospective employees; works with Department Manager in recruiting/hiring new personnel. Is responsible for the orientation/training of new technician staff.Participates in meetings and on committees as requested. Attends hospital and department meetings and in-services.Manages and coordinates the distribution activities of the Pharmacy Department with department leader and other areas of the hospital, as needed, to insure and maintain patient care.Participates in Quality Assurance in the Pharmacy Department.Develops and maintains competencies for all respective employees and actively participates in department performance improvement activities.QualificationsNational Pharmacy Technician Certification or Intern Registration and Registered with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy at time of hireHigh School Diploma or GED
