The opportunity
We are seeking an experienced, high-energy, team-oriented forensics professional to join us as aForensics Services Lab Manager in our OpenText LegalTech UK Cloud division.
In this position you will help our digital forensics team to provide our broad range of clients with best in service solutions for their digital forensic needs. Additional responsibilities will include managing systems to monitor evidence tracking, as well as forensic software and hardware in use. You will also help grow and develop the team, to ensure we stay at the cutting edge of what is possible, as well as providing mentorship and guidance to less experienced team members.
You are great at:
- Managing and building out a secure digital forensics lab, including maintaining records of software and hardware and evidence tracking
- Understanding and implementing best practices in relation to both digital forensics and network security
- Leading complex forensic collections from enquiry to completion
- Understanding data handling requirements across multiple jurisdictions
- Managing and delegating tasks appropriately to others
- Understanding eDiscovery workflows and the overlap with digital forensic processes
- Developing and testing new tools and processes
- Creating relevant documentation for the implementation of new tools and processes
- Mentoring and training junior team members
- Researching and understanding new and emerging technologies and data types
- Conducting forensic analysis and reporting on findings
- Presenting complex technical issues in a way the layman can understand
- Maintaining positive and professional relationships at all levels
What it takes:
- A Bachelor level degree or equivalent industry qualifications and relevant work experience
- Experience of requirements for ISO27001 and ISO17025 standards
- In-depth knowledge of the UK legal system and data privacy laws such as the GDPR
- Proven track record of working effectively with Digital Forensics and eDiscovery teams
- Proficiency with industry standard forensic software and hardware
- Good organization and meticulous attention to detail
- Effective multi-tasker, able to deliver on multiple requests under pressure
- Ability to prioritize incoming requests from different areas
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Flexibility to travel within the UK and on occasion abroad, sometimes at short notice
Nice to have:
- Masters level degree in a relevant subject
- EnCE or other digital forensic qualifications
- Understanding of IT security
- Deep experience of data collections of different media from different jurisdictions
- Appreciation of different collection experiences such as search and seizure (both business and personal premises), delivery up, on site and remote collections.
- Knowledge of legal systems and laws in other jurisdictions
- Full driving license and passport
