Phoenix Paper Wickliffe LLC is searching for qualified candidates to assume the role of Human Resources (HR) Generalist

This opening provides the opportunity to be part of a dynamic and highly functioning HR department. Our team believes in providing a high level of HR expertise to the business, solving problems, working hard, and having fun while doing so. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources (HR), the Human Resources Generalist supports the growth and operation of Phoenix Paper by managing the full recruitment process life cycle, payroll activities, employee relations, and providing HR expertise to all levels of leadership through close partnership. Our team is looking for a candidate that works hard, has a high level of customer service, understands the nuances of HR in manufacturing, and has solid personal values.

Key responsibilities of the of HR Generalist include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Acts as a key partner to business leaders by providing counsel on HR related challenges and opportunities.
  • Confers with management and supervisors to identify personnel needs, job specifications, job duties, qualifications, and skills. Manages the full recruitment life cycle.
  • Manages the payroll process from start to finish, resolves errors.
  • Assist with all internal and external HR-related matters.
  • Investigates complaints brought forward by employees.
  • Coordinates employee development plans and performance management.
  • Performs orientations and new hire onboarding.
  • Assists with budget monitoring and maintains all payroll operations according to Company policies and procedures.
  • Maintains all data within our HRIS system.
  • Prepares and analyzes report data generated from HRIS for payroll, turnover, compensation analysis, etc.
  • Resolves payroll discrepancies and answers any employee payroll queries.
  • Will lead HR specific projects and programs to further the business and provide professional growth.


Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources or equivalent from four-year college/university.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in an HR role, preferably in manufacturing industry.
  • Excellent customer service skills in partnering with business leaders and employees at all levels.
  • Deep understanding of Labor Law and employment equity regulations.
  • Efficient HR administration and people management skills.
  • Knowledge of HR functions and best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Works comfortably under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
  • Superb computer literacy with capability in email, MS Office, and related HRIS software.
  • Remarkable organizational and conflict management skills.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Payroll experience, good with numbers and processes
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Recruiting experience.
