We want you on our team...Clark Regional Medical Center located in Winchester, a 15 minute drive from Lexington, KY is searching for a full-time, night shift Lab Assistant I to join our team in the Lab!

Essential functions of position include, but are not limited to:
Reviews providers orders, quick registers patients as necessary, and orders the appropriate laboratory tests as defined by the patient's order provided by the provider.
Verifies patient by using two patient identifiers.
Obtains blood specimens by performing venipunctures, finger sticks, or heel stick as required per established laboratory policy.
Obtains urine, throat, and nasal samples per established laboratory policy.
Labels patient specimens with at least two patient identifiers and date, time, and collector's initials.
Performs chain of custody urine drug screen collection and breath alcohol testing per established laboratory policy.
Collects therapeutic drug-monitoring assays by collaborating with nursing personnel to ensure appropriate drug dose to collection time.
Resolves unusual test orders by contacting the physician, pathologist, nursing station, or reference laboratory; referring unresolved orders back to the originator for further clarification; notifying supervisor of unresolved orders.
Processes specimens for testing and distributes to the appropriate laboratory department for testing or sends to the reference lab by following established laboratory policy.
Assists in keeping supplies at adequate levels by completing weekly departmental inventories.
Job Requirements:
Education: High School diploma - required
License: Valid Drivers License with clean driving record
