The Team
We are seeking a Senior Financial Systems Analyst to join American Tower's Corporate Finance organization. The Senior Financial Systems Analyst will work closely on IT and business process improvement initiatives for the financial system IBM-Cognos TM1, which is utilized for strategic planning, financial reports, tax analysis, and monthly accounting close submissions. The incumbent will act as a system leader, partnering with finance management and IT to define business and user requirements, design solutions, test and implement system enhancements, provide documentation, and conduct user training. Serving as the system administrator and point person for TM1, the Financial Analyst will answer questions posed by both business end-users and IT personnel, resolve issues, and perform recurring monthly responsibilities including running system processes and reporting. Reporting to the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis, the Financial Analyst must be an organized and highly motivated team player, have outstanding communication and systems skills, and have a strong understanding of accounting/finance.
What You Can Offer Us
* Act as the corporate financial planning system lead, preparing and maintaining system models for monthly, quarterly and annual strategic planning cycles. Ensure data quality and consistency across planning and reporting environments. Combine end-user feedback and evolving business needs to design, test and implement planning system enhancements
* Utilize the TM1 system to administer the cross-functional activities for Finance, IT and business process improvement initiatives supporting the Financial Planning & Analysis department.
* Provide functional support to international and domestic business units and Corporate Finance teams, including independently determining appropriate user access, documenting and resolving issues, communicating regarding training, testing, system issues and development suggestions, providing on-demand analysis and training, providing support on other projects that impact the TM1 system.
* Partner with system stakeholders and the Financial Systems Manager to create and maintain TM1 forms and subsets and maintain and enhance hierarchies within system.
* Proactively identify system issues and risks. Assume responsibility for driving issues to closure and developing plans for managing and mitigating risks.
* Attend regular system status meetings with FP&A, Accounting and Tax to discuss ongoing maintenance, potential system enhancements, assist with Sarbanes-Oxley ("SOX") control procedures.
* Develop relationships and facilitate communications with business end-users and manage expectations of both users (corporate and regional) and IT Business Applications teams.
* Other duties as assigned.
What You Need to Succeed
* Bachelor's Degree required.
* 3 years' experience in a corporate financial analyst position or equivalent experience required.
* At least one year of Oracle or similar system experience (Cognos TM1, Hyperion, Oracle BPM and EBS Suite) required.
* Strong understanding of accounting/finance and monthly close and planning processes.
* Firm understanding of income statements, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows.
* Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.
* Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results.
* Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment.
