Overview:
Reporting to the Director of Analytical HPLC Product Management, the Principal Product Manager, LC Systems will be responsible for developing and implementing business strategy, defining the product roadmap, new product ideation, commercialization, life-cycle management and sustaining activities for Waters HPLC product lines.

This is a highly visible, global role that requires attention to detail, the ability to comprehend and translate technical capabilities into benefits, and the ability to lead through influence with a number of cross-functional teams across the entire Waters Division. A self-directed, highly motivated individual with strong business acumen as well as technical and market knowledge would be ideal for this position.

Responsibilities:
Provide the vision and strategic direction for assigned HPLC product lines, driving the development of new capabilities to extend the flexibility and performance of our instruments.

Develop and maintain a product roadmap for our HPLC portfolio in collaboration with the other product line teams, specifically Informatics, to deliver differentiated solutions to meet Waters growth objectives.

Develop and maintain a market share model for HPLC.

Meet regularly with key customers and industry stakeholders to maintain strong market knowledge and develop a deep understanding of the competitive landscape.

Provide clear direction on how to maintain our competitive leadership for our HPLC product offerings, gathering and acting on insights. Working with sales enablement colleagues to develop tools and training to combat these competitors.

Support the Waters Product Development process providing clear direction and adhering to key milestones to help support on-time market introduction and project schedules. Support the development of business models inclusive of ROI (Return-on-investment) estimates, sales projections and risk.

Develop user requirements and support the creation of product requirements that link to key market requirements which are aligned to the business needs of our pharma, biomedical research, food, environmental, chemical materials and clinical markets.

Develop clear product positioning for the HPLC portfolio, branding and supporting field facing content to develop campaigns that drive sales and enhance the product's position in the market. Ensure current and clear messaging, positioning & sales tools are in place to support existing products.

Manage the lifecycle and obsolescence process for HPLC products on-market.

Support Waters Commercialization process for new product introductions.

Qualifications:
Key Skills:

Good understanding of Waters products, specifically HPLC

Strategic mindset with strong execution focus

Exceptional written and oral communication skills

Exceptional organization and problem-solving skills

Effective collaboration & networking skills

Minimum BS degree in Chemistry, technology or related scientific or business discipline. Advanced degree is highly preferred.

Minimum of 5 years' experience in a product management, product marketing, or business development role in a technology domain

Minimum of 3 years' industry experience with HPLC and/or LC/MS instrumentation.

Proven ability to manage and complete multiple projects with tight timelines

Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority

Familiarity with, and comfort functioning within, a phase-gate product development process

Familiarity with basic financial analysis and opportunity assessment

Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 30%
