Principal Responsibilities:
JCC Greater Boston is looking for a Human Resources Assistant with excellent administrative skills, to join our HR team and work in JCC Greater Boston's people-focused environment. The HR Assistant will provide various administrative functions independently, and will interact with all levels of employees and management. This is a 30 hour per week position with benefits. The Human Resources Assistant will:
- Build strong relationships with and provides vital services to the Human Resources team, managers and staff across the organization.
- Participate in the administration and organization of various human resources programs, procedures, and special projects.
- Bring a balance of flexibility, graciousness, results orientation, drive and discipline to work, supporting organizational goals.
- Provides direct support to Director of Human Resources. Performs various administrative functions independently (e.g. prepares correspondence, handbook renewal editing, prepares purchase orders, files, collates packets, assembles information and forms, prepares badges, etc.)
- Assists Director of Human Resources in benefits administration including processing enrollments, terminations and changes, including administrative support during Open Enrollments and plan changes of HR/Benefits Programs. (Health, Dental, FSA, Retirement, etc.).
- Prepares and monitors completion of paperwork/data entry for new hires, agreements, changes and terminations. Organizes and distributes teacher agreement packets. Conducts employee onboarding.
- Participates in recruitment activities including job postings.
- Maintains and organizes HR/Payroll employee files/records, data and reports. Assists in research/data collection.
- Researches, documents and responds to employer verification for unemployment claim requests. Workers compensation intake, form completion and submits claims. Assists Director of Human Resources providing administration, tracking, reporting, written and verbal communication of HR, state and federal leave programs with a high level of attention to accuracy.
- Supports Payroll Manager by performing activities including but not limited to: sorting and mailing checks, backup payroll entry, uploading Paylocity (Payroll software) updates, etc. Assists in gathering information and generating letters for 403(b) audit. Serves as backup for Payroll Manager. Participates in Paylocity webinars, as needed.
- Handles special projects as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
The Human Resources Assistant must have excellent interpersonal, organizational, time management and delivery skills. A strong detail orientation, accuracy, a can-do disposition, proactivity, excellent follow through and flexibility/agility are essential traits. He/she/they can be trusted to handle highly confidential and sensitive information.
Additional background/skills required include:
- One to three years related administrative support experience
- Undergraduate degree preferred.
- Strong communications skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills including both customer service mindset/skills and the ability to work as a congenial, collaborative teammate.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
