We are seeking a self-motivated, innovative thinker, with the ability to work as part of a team and think quickly in high pressure situations. The Sales Engineer is responsible for supporting the sale of the company's products and services by demonstrating solutions to prospective buyers, at any location within the North America region. In addition to demonstrations, s/he is responsible for completing incoming Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Proposal (RFP) documentation under the direction of the Manager of Sales Engineering. The Sales Engineer is also responsible for Proof of Concept activities such as loading sample data, identifying business requirements/challenges and playing back solutions to prospective clients. S/he will coordinate activities and provide guidance to other sales engineering staff, directed by the Global Sales Engineering Manager.

Leads activities related to Business Development support, including technology product sales, implementations and demonstrations. Reviews Business Development analysis and provides recommendations for improvement. Oversees development of marketing materials and reviews pricing and profitability modeling. Manages the pipeline database and training. May allocate or coordinate work within team. Develops approach to analyzing metrics, analysis methodology and proposal response. Takes lead on the largest, most complex projects, analyses and proposals that are critical to the organization. May lead development of materials for webpage. Conducts legal/business reviews for all potential projects. Contributes to final go/no-go deliberation. Coordinates with internal business units to research and gather information necessary to engage with sales targets appropriately and submit RFPs. Anticipates and resolves any compliance, legal or regulatory review required for solicitation and response. Acts as a resource for relationship managers to ensure information needed to complete a sale or to improve the sales process provided in a timely fashion. Works directly with the client, business development or relationship management teams to clarify requirements for materials being developed. Leverages technological expertise for product sales and demonstrations. No direct reports. Leads Business Development support teams and provides guidance to less experienced colleagues. Contributes to the achievement of team objectives.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:

  • 5+ years of direct technical and/or financial services experience.
  • Experience in investment accounting, performance measurement, enterprise data management, and financial services technology experience preferred.
  • Technology and Database experience (MSSQL or Oracle) is a plus.
  • Ability to work as part of a team is mandatory.
  • BS/BA degree.
  • Extensive travel normally required.
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills. Prior public speaking or presentation experience is preferred.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience in business management or related field is required.
  • 7-10 years of total work experience in sales preferred.
