Senior Analyst, Treasury Planning and ComplianceJob Description Summary
This position reports to the Director, Treasury & Capital Markets and is responsible for various aspects of Global Treasury Planning and Compliance activities. Work involves a strong understanding of financial statements and financial modeling, high level of analytical skills, the ability to understand complex loan agreements and contracts, initiative, and creativity.Key Elements of the Role:
• Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Planning. Responsible for the timely completion of monthly forecasting and annual budgeting activities. This includes:
o Preparation of the global balance sheet and cash flow budget and forecasting model.
o Preparation of the interest expense/income account forecasts.
o Variance analysis.
o Management reporting.
o Coach finance personnel globally related to balance sheet forecasting and budgeting process.
o Seek continuous improvements in forecasting system and process.
• Debt Compliance. Responsible for monitoring debt compliance and completing various compliance activities. This requires a comprehensive understanding of AAM's credit agreements and indentures.
o Prepare quarterly debt compliance checklists for all required agreements.
o Prepare quarterly U.S. debt financial covenant calculations, with appropriate audit documentation.
o Prepare and distribute compliance certificates and other required information to Lenders.
o Assist with the preparation of compliance memo's for special transactions.
o Advice on compliance matters, as needed.
• Global Capital Structure. Supports the execution of global funding strategies. Among other things, this includes:
o Support the analysis and execution of strategies related to the capital structure or global cash movements.
o Monitoring the balance sheet of AAM's non-U.S. entities to ensure sufficient capitalization and funding.
o Provide forecasted cash flow information to the team for planning and strategy purposes.
o Assist in non-U.S. loan negotiations and documentation.
o Support U.S. Financing activities.
• Other duties.
o Perform or coordinate AAM's accounting for debt functions, including but not limited to:
o Working with international sites to ensure that monthly income/expense and assets/liabilities related to debt activities are recorded in accordance with US GAAP on a consolidated basis.
o Complete required quarterly schedules for Financial Reporting support.
o Various month-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations, as required.
o Assist in the preparation and review of Sarbanes-Oxley 404 testing for Debt controls.
o Assist with quarterly external audits
o Participate in Quarterly Treasury Reviews with Senior Management.
o May provide back-up support for various Cash Management or Risk Management activities, as needed.

Required Skills and Education
Position Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field of study
- Advanced degree or certifications in related field preferred
- Minimum 5 years of related financial experience
- Strong knowledge of financial statements and U.S. general accounting principles
- Strong excel skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated commitment to teamwork
- Ability to communicate effectively across multiple levels, functions and locations
- Ability to prioritize assignments/projects and multi-task within restricted time constraints
- Attention to detail and commitment to a high degree of accuracy
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated Project Management and leadership skills.
- Exposure to global business and experience interacting with global partners.
