Accounts Receivable Clerk

Robert Half is seeking an Accounts Receivable Clerk. The accounting team is growing quickly and is looking for someone interested in great career growth potential and a great benefits package. A successful candidate for this position will be ready to enter, post and reconcile batches, research and resolve customer A/R issues, prepare aging report, place billing and collection calls, maintain cash receipts journal, update, and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L. Candidates who are self-starters and who have high attention to detail will be the best fit for this Accounts Receivable Clerk position, since they will handle 200+ invoices a week. This is a short-term contract / temporary Accounts Receivable Clerk position and is based in the Muskegon, Michigan area. Apply now!

Responsibilities

- Present information, as requested to shippers, customers, the sales/marketing department and other stakeholders

- Carry out an assortment of basic accounting tasks in accordance with standard procedures, including general accounting tasks

- Assist in setting up payment plans; contact clients to help resolve payment issues

- Verify documents and codes

- Pinpoint delinquent customer accounts through various means, e.g. written correspondence, phone contact, skip-tracing, and making arrangements for payment

- Settle bank accounts, posting and balancing financial data in a variety of ledgers

- Compile segments of monthly closings and annual reports and take care of payments in compliance with GAAP

- Promote, communicate, and reinforce the mission, values and culture of the organization

Requirements - Proficient in ERP systems

- AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field desired

- Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks

- 2+ years of relevant experience in accounts receivable

- Strong analytical skills in basic accounts receivable and accounting policy

- Collecting Payments experience

- Accounts Receivable (AR) experience

- Adeptness in cash applications

- Collection Processes experience preferred

- General familiarity with Microsoft Excel

- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Excel

- Practical knowledge of numeric data entry

- Strong familiarity with Collect Outstanding

- Customer invoices experience required
