Job Description

Terrapin is looking for a Buyer to join our growing company. As we continue to expand across the country, so has our demand for raw materials. In effort to meet our customers expectations with finished products it is essential we are partnering with the right vendors on products, and supplies while ensuring the highest quality, best prices, and service.

The Buyer is directly responsible for maintaining positive vendor relationships and assisting the Purchasing Manager with any and all necessary tasks. This position requires professionalism and teamwork among Terrapin's multiple departments to be sure all needs and timelines are being met.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan and execute procurement of services and materials across all locations
• Creates and manages POs in ERP system
• Maintain strong working relationships and communications with key vendor partners and internal departments
• Process requests from production facilities and translate into POs to vendors
• Monitor status of open purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery of assigned materials
• Anticipate and communicate any material shortages
• Assist in building procedures / SOP's related to production and materials planning process

Organizational Structure

The Buyer reports directly to the Purchasing Manager. The position works in conjunction with all departments to ensure the cohesion of production across all locations is not interrupted.

Qualifications and Requirements

• 2+ years experience in procurement or closely related field
• Ability to communicate effectively across all departments internally and externally
• Industry knowledge is a plus (Cannabis)
• Experience purchasing and working with a variety of packaging, hardware, lab supplies, etc.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Excellent computer skills Excel, Word, Google,
• Able to learn and adapt to new internal software
• Able to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with staff, stakeholders, and vendors
• Ability to manage time effectively, work independently and be self-motivated.
