Senior Manager, Copywriter Social Media
Location
This role will be located at the St. Louis Support Center under a hybrid working model, reporting to the office and working from a remote environment.

The Social Media Copywriter will work within the marketing department and will report to the Director of Brand Marketing. The social media team manages Panera's social efforts - both paid and organic - in conjunction with multiple internal stakeholders, external agencies and partners. The Social Media Copywriter candidate will work across social media platforms and push innovation by connecting the Panera brand with culture and brand love moments. The right candidate should lead with a digital-first mindset, possess exceptional communication skills, detail-oriented and passionate about our brand.
Duties & Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of this job include, but are not limited to:
Social Media
- Work with internal partners to develop a monthly social content calendar for Panera's social channels - Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube
- Participate in internal and agency briefings, creative presentations and creative assessment
- Edit post copy, review and route assets for approval to internal stakeholders, ensuring all content is aligned with the brand voice and ladders up to the strategy
- Help increase engagement with followers, grow the number of followers on platforms
- Leverage social listening data and consumer engagement to optimize current and future campaigns through our social voice
- Stay up-to-date on emerging social media trends and platforms
- Monitor ongoing social and cultural conversations to identify and implement "real time" opportunities to amplify Panera's voice
Copy Writing
- Guide the development of the brand voice and ensure consistency across platforms.
- Collaborate on creative direction development and how it translates into social copy.
- Work with Social Designer to produce and deliver outstanding creative work
- Serve as a confident and creative thought leader across the department.
- Write highly engaging copy, platform specific that reflect the brand voice.
- Support communications initiatives for organic posts, paid campaigns, and brand acts
- Present copy concepts and strategic thinking in creative reviews.
- Manage multiple projects on short deadlines with minimal supervision.
The ideal candidate is highly creative and analytical thinker. Should be able to quickly change and evolve with the digital landscape while staying extremely organized.
Qualifications (Education & Experience)
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably with a concentration in advertising, marketing, or communications
- 5-7 years of experience writing compelling copy for social specific channels
- A portfolio demonstrating effective and engaging copywriting for retail brands
- Food writing experience a plus
- Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills
- Passionate about harnessing the power of social media to drive business results
- A high-energy self-starter with natural curiosity
- A strong verbal and written communicator
- A highly organized individual
- An effective multi-tasker who works well in multi-functional teams
- Fully immersed in all major social networks
- Thrives in a high-energy, fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Experience writing and editing for social channels, and managing editorial calendars (preferred)
