Experis, a ManpowerGroup company has an exciting contract opportunity for a Scientist. This position is 12 months (Possible Extension) contract for one of our key clients, a global biopharmaceutical company that is engaged in the discovery, development, and manufacturer of healthcare products.

Qualifications:

Education

  • MS. in Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Biochemistry or other related Biological Sciences OR BS. in Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Biochemistry or other related Biological Sciences with up to 2 years of experience in industry or academia. Candidates with MS with industrial or academic experience will be preferred.

Required skills

  • Hands-on experience in aseptic handling of mammalian cell cultures.
  • Hands-on experience with high-throughput experimentation tools (e.g. deep-well plates, bioprocess analyzers, and flow cytometers, etc.)
  • Demonstrated skills in culture media and buffer preparation.
  • Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills to work in a team environment.

Preferred skills

  • Experience with the operations of minibioreactors (e.g. ambr® system) and bench-top bioreactors.
  • Familiar with JMP or Design Expert, or other statistical analysis software.

Responsibilities:

The Biologics Upstream Process Development group is seeking a highly motivated scientist to participate in the development of efficient and robust upstream processes, as well as transferring these processes within internal and external manufacturing networks. Main responsibilities include routine cell culture laboratory work (shake flasks and bioreactors), cell culture media and feed optimization, process development and optimization, data analysis, and technical presentations. The successful candidate will work in a highly collaborative environment with downstream and analytical groups in pursuit of process robustness and innovation.

Qualifications:

Basic:

  • 5+ years' experience in Project Management
  • Some understanding of Veeva or review systems
  • Some experience working with print and digital formats

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Science, Education, Communication or related
  • Understanding of the MLR process and associated policies and systems
  • Pharmaceutical industry knowledge
  • Knowledge and prior experience in marketing, and communication or advertising agency experience
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat; MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and Veeva PromoMats
  • Possesses ability to learn and adapt to other software tools as necessary
