Job description
Primary Purpose:
Under the general supervision of the Lab Manager, incumbent will be responsible for compounding samples, maintaining sanitation and organization of the lab, preparing finished products, conducting product analyses, recording pertinent data in computer systems, ordering and or picking raw materials from plant, and assisting in production processing.
Qualifications / Responsibilities:
1. Ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities and multiple tasks, with ability to take direction from product developers, scientists, and supervisor is required
2. Previous compounding and weighing experience required, with proven accuracy and strong attention to detail.
3. Experience with lab scales, kitchen utensils, mixers, and ingredients.
4. Ability to work accurately with calculations, such as ratios, decimals, percentages, etc., as related to seasoning formulae in a fast-paced, high volume environment required.
5. Demonstrated data entry and basic PC skills, including Excel and Word required
6. Good communication skills, including written and verbal, required.
7. Proven ability to work within a team environment as well as the ability to work independently required.
8. Demonstrated problem solving skills required.
9. Comfort with food product preparations including tasks as baking, frying, etc.
10. Must be capable of utilizing all senses required for the evaluation of, i.e. color perception, taste, and smell.
11. Physical requirements: Ability to lift 10 pounds continuously, 20 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
12. Ability to work overtime as needed is required.
13. There will be a 2-3 week training period in production.
Minimum Requirements:
High School graduate with strengths in science or math related fields OR high school diploma 1-2 years Lab experience preferred.
Working Environment:
Climate controlled laboratory environment with exposure to a variety of food GRAS chemicals, flavors and other food product ingredients.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $20.00 per hour
